• Purim. Our computers gave a "stack overflow error" when we tried to figure out how many people attended the various Megilla readings, but it was the Biggest.Year.Ever. Thank you to the Megilla readers, social committee, who organized the carnival, Bermans band, and -of course- the goody bag crew.
• שמע בני מוסר אביך ואל תיטוש תורת אמך. It is always gratifying when the "next generation" adopts family traditions. Thank you to Bea Kriger and Sheila Fieldust for organizing the women's Megilla reading since its inception, and wishing Sarabeth Weisel and Leora Lubomirsky much success in its continuation.
• The Shul email system is being upgraded this weekend. Please do not email the Shul or use the website forms between Friday and Sunday, so we can complete the tasks required and not miss your email. If you need to [G-d forbid] report the passing of a loved one during this time, please call 08-374-0241.
• Jointly sponsored Yahrtzeit Kiddush - Nissan. The Nissan JSK will be held on 13 April, Parashat Tazria. To participate in the Kiddush, please contact Raanan Loew (kiddush@bermanshul.org) no later than Monday, 8 April. Participation: 150 NIS per person memorialized. Raanan confirms all emails he receives; if you do not hear back, please follow up. Shiurim and lectures שיעורים והרצאות:

• New Shiur. As the clocks change this week, we will have a new opportunity on Shabbat, and are initiating a new women’s Parasha Shiur in English, to be held in the Berman library between Mincha and Maariv. This week, Sara Kessler will be leading the Shiur. We look forward to seeing you there on Shabbat. Anyone interested in leading a shiur to please contact Judy Davidovics at 058-569-0862.
• שיעור חדש. השבת, ובכל השבתות הבאות עלינו לטובה, תתקיים בספריה של בית הכנסת שיעור בפרשת שבוע באנגלית בין מנחה למעריב. השיעור השבוע תינתן על ידי שרה קסלר. בואו בהמוניכם.
• This is an update regarding Mishnayot learning in memory of the victims of the Hamas massacre of 7 October. We hope to complete the entire Shisha Sidrei Mishna before the Yahrtzeit of the terrible event. In that way, we can make a Siyum and say Kaddish in their memories. Kol Hakavod to everyone who has volunteered to learn so far. To date we have made extensive progress with commitments as follows:
  Seder Zeraim – fully covered except Masechet Dimai
  Seder Moed – fully covered
  Seder Nashim – fully covered except Masechet Nazir
  Seder Nizikin – fully covered
  Seder Kudashim – four Masechtot left uncovered: Zevachim, Bechorot, Arachim, Temurah
  Seder Taharot – four Masechtot left uncovered: Kelim, Nega'im, Machshirin and T'vul Yom
