• Safety and situational awareness. Please familiarize yourself with routes to the nearest shelter in case of an alarm. Locations of safe structures may be seen here or on the Noticeboard.

• Shelter information:

  • There are two bona fide underground shelters, one around the outside back of the shul (through the Cohanim room exit to the left -or- through the men's bathroom in back of the shul, and downstairs at the shelter) and the other in the seminar building. Upon entry please move to the back so others can enter.

  • The back of the men’s section/library, is more reinforced than the front of the shul. Those who have difficulty walking or climbing stairs or who have young children and babies should shelter there.

  • Those in the balcony can go into the seminary hallway, which is an inner room.

  • Those near the amphitheater should go up the amphi. stairs to the left through the seminar cafeteria, and downstairs to the shelter.

  • Please remember that anyone bringing children must take full responsibility for their safety! Locations of safe structures may be seen on the Noticeboard and the map also appears at the end of the email and printable newsletters.

• HyPaL (Horim, Yeladim, Pizza and Learning) resumes!! We meet Motzei Shabbat at 18:15 in the back of shul. Parents and children of all ages are welcome to join. There will be a half-hour of independent learning followed by a D'var Torah and pizza. Please bring your learning materials with you, we recommend Parasha books, Mishna or Pninai Halacha for kids. The activity complies with Homefront Command regulations; we will review the shelter options at the start of the learning. In case of an alarm, each parent is responsible for their children. • Additional Tefillot due to the situation. Because of the crisis resulting from the heinous attack of Hamas on Israel and the subsequent war, several additional prayers have been added to our davening. The purpose of "Additions to the Tefillot at the Berman Shul During Operation Iron Swords" is to inform the membership of the text of these additions, so that they can join in at home as well.
