regret to announce the passing of Isaac Meyer Flaks z”l, the
brother of our member Chanie Goren. The funeral was
scheduled for tonight, Thursday evening, May 4, in the Eretz
Hachaim cemetery in Beit Shemesh but the flight is
delayed so please check for updates at http://www.bermanshul.org/shiva.
Chanie will be sitting Shiva through Thursday morning, May 11,
at her home, Ephraim Katzir 15/40 on the 11th floor. She can be

Her brother Lenny from the States will be sitting with her, but
he will be davening at the regular Berman daily services.

- The Azkara
commemorating the the first yahrzeit of Irene Dym z”l will
take place on Friday May 5 at 9:15 at the Rehovot cemetery.
SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS

kiddush. On Shabbat June 17th, we will be holding our
annual kiddush honoring the Shul's 12th grade graduates. If you
have a daughter/son in 12th grade and would like to participate,

HaShabbat lectures, featuring several of our own
members. This week's lecture will be given by Dan

- ESRA
Rehovot Chapter Presents via Zoom May 17, 2023,
19:30, “Bitter Reckoning: Israel Tries Holocaust Survivors as
Nazi Collaborators,” by Prof. Dan Porat. Shortly after its
establishment, the state of Israel prosecuted and jailed
dozens of Holocaust survivors who had served as camp kapos or
ghetto police under the Nazis. Dan Porat brings to light more
than three dozen little-known trials, and invites us to
consider what it means to be a victim in extraordinary
circumstances. Prof. Porat is in the Department of History and
Education, Hebrew University. All proceeds support ESRA
Rehovot after-school programs for children at risk. Cost: ESRA
Members NIS 25, Non-members NIS 35. Registration: Booking

address once your payment has been processed.
- Tehillim
group - for women interested in joining an ongoing
Tehillim program. Each woman reads a few psukim (less than 10
minutes per week), and the group collectively finishes the
entire book on a weekly basis. If you would like to join the
group, or if you are already in the group (until now
coordinated by Ruth Rechtschaffen) and have not been contacted
regarding the transition, please contact Gabriela Cohen

Rehovot Chapter invites you to our renewed coffee hour
get-together, May 10, 2023, at 10:30, Dafna’s

plan to come, so we can let the café know approximately how
many people to expect. Come and help celebrate the first
marriage of Julie Andrews.

old available to assist at home with chores and/or kids. Shira

- Summer
camp for children with chronic diseases. Our
granddaughter is a Madricha in a Bnei Akiva branch that has
taken on a yearly project with Chaverim LeRefua, to help
provide programming for children with various health issues.
This year, they are organizing a summer camp for these
children in Ein Tzurim, in memory of Hadar Goldin HY'D, who
was a beloved Madrich in their Snif. A donation of
any amount would be greatly appreciated to help cover
expenses of the program. Link for donations and

שבט נבטים בבני עקיבא. הסניף בו היא מדריכה התחיל פעילות שנתית

לילדים חולים. השנה תיפתח קייטנה לילדים של ״חברים לרפואה״
בשיתוף חבריא ב' בסניף. הקייטנה היא לזיכרו של הדר גולדין הי"ד
