- We
regret to announce the passing of Ruth Steinmetz z”l, the
mother of our member Pearl Hershkovitz. The funeral
was held in New York. Pearl sat Shiva for one day due to

- As many have
done before us, Bea and I would like to thank the
community for its help and support (and food) during my recent
Shiva. It was a long six days, with three Torah
readings, and I never for a moment felt anything other than
total commitment to helping me get through a most difficult
week. That this is an amazing community is known to us all, as
my family and I witnessed this week. With gratitude, Jerry
Kriger.
SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS
תזכורות, אירועים ופעילויות של בית הכנסת
- Thank
you to all those who helped with programming on Yom
Yerushalayim through Shavuot. We are grateful for our
in-house talent who gave shiurim / divrei Torah / presentations
for adults, youth, and kids. Thank you as well to all the
"invisible" people (several of whom were extra-invisible, in
Bidud this year) who organized the Shiurim, and dealt with
snacks (all 50 liters of ice cream were consumed), set-up,
shabbat clocks, lights etc etc. Thank you as well to everyone
who came, participated, and contributed to the Yom Tov
atmosphere.
- The
Shul AGM is scheduled for June 26, at 20:30. Anyone
wishing to run for election to the Board or Audit Committee
should contact Shua Spotts or Eliot Dobin. Recent board minutes,
the AGM agenda, and other materials are / will be posted on the
member documents page, as they become
available. Finally, anyone wishing to raise a topic for
discussion at the AGM should contact Emanuel Weisgras by Sunday
night June 12th, at president@bermanshul.org.
- **NEW**Gemmara Shiur (in
Hebrew) for girls grades 2-6 every Shabbat morning
at 11:00 in the library.

- "Midreshet
Ha'Shabbat" lectures continue in the shul before

(1-A Skolnick) [in English] on Sunday June 12 (14 Sivan) at 8
PM. "Rav Simcha Kook as we knew him"- memories from Rav Dovid
Stein and Rav Yehoshua Weisinger who shared decades-long
relationships with Rav Kook. Men and women welcome.
- ESRA
Rehovot Chapter Presents Online via Zoom June 22,
2022 at 19:30, “Jews Saving Jews,” A talk by Miriam Sharon
Although Jews were being persecuted and in severe danger
during WWII, there were those among them who took the
initiative, and against all odds, tried to save their fellow
brethren. The lecture will be looking at some of these amazing
cases. Miriam Sharon has been a guide at Yad VaShem since
2017. She came to Israel from Australia after high school and
received her BA and MA from Bar Ilan University. Cost: ESRA
Members NIS 25, Non-members NIS 35. Registration: Contact the
