• Mazal Tov to Susan Rubin and Eliot Dobin on the Bat Mitzva of their daughter Bat Sheva. Mazal Tov of course to Bat Sheva, as well as her brothers Gavriel and Benaya. Mazal Tov and a warm welcome to the Bat Sheva's grandparents, Ed and Marcella Rubin and Cecily Dobin.

Army צה"ל:

• Congratulations to Adi Barkai, and to her parents Naama and David Barkai on her upcoming receipt of the "President's Award for Outstanding Army Service". Adi is serving as the paramedic of a tank brigade. She will be appearing in the Diagram display (part of the Flag March) on Erev Yom Haatzmaut and in the Award ceremony on Yom Haatzmaut Day.
• ברכות לחברתינו עדי ברקאי והוריה נעמה ודוד ברקאי על קבלת אות הצטיינות נשיא. עדי משרתת כפרמדיקית בגדוד טנקים. היא תופיע בריקוד הדגלים (בחלק הדיאגרמות) בטקס המרכזי בערב יום העצמאות וכמו כן בהענקת הפרס בבית הנשיא ביום העצמאות בבוקר.

SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS תזכורות, אירועים ופעילויות של בית הכנסת

• Rabbi Aryeh Frimer will renew his Shabbat Morning Shiur this week, at the back of the Shul, with a new series entitled "Insights into the Haggada: Sources, Structure and Commentaries".
• Cholent Kiddush- Presenting the fourth annual Berman Shul cholent cook-off. Sample the best Cholents from our home grown talent and vote on your favorites. When: Kiddush after shul this Shabbat (Parashat Kedoshim). Kashrut for this event has been coordinated with the Halacha Committee of the Shul. Please note, in planning your lunch, many of the Cholents will be Besari.
• מאסטר שף צ'ולנט ברמן יוצא לדרך! השבת פרשת קדושים, קידוש שכולו טעמים מן המטבח היהודי על שלל סגנונותיו. לידיעתכם, הכשרות של האירוע בפיקוח ועדת ההלכה של בית הכנסת. רוב הצ'ולנטים יהיו בשריים.
• Yom Hashoa event. זכרון בסולון - Spend Yom Hashoa having a meaningful conversation with young Jewish leaders from Minneapolis. This will be an English, in-person event at Bermans. Tonight, Thursday April 28th 19:45-21:30. Sign up here. Partnership 2Gether (P2G) is a program of the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) that:
  *Provides opportunities for 500 Jewish communities worldwide to participate in cultural, educational and social exchanges with Israeli communities
  *Strengthens the bonds between Israel and Diaspora Jewry through “sister city” pairings
  *Offers Diaspora Jews a hands on vehicle to assist in Israel’s economic and community development. To develop and strengthen Jewish communities in Israel and overseas by creating revitalized, ongoing, and meaningful engagement between members of these communities, based on mutual endeavor and shared Jewish identity. The city of Rehovot has been in Partnership with the Jewish community of Minneapolis for the past 7 years.
• Chaya Levmore Tannor memorial lecture. On Sunday, May 8 at 20:00, the 5th annual Chaya Levmore Tannor memorial lecture will take place live at Bermans. The speaker is Michael Oren, author, historian and former Israeli ambassador to the US, who will speak about: Israel 2048: Assuring Our Second Successful Century.

Yom Hazikaron / Yom Haatzmaut.

• Lecture. On Wednesday afternoon May 4th at 17:30 there will be a Zoom lecture in Hebrew given by Yossi Amrosi, a high ranking retired Israel Security Agency (Shabac) agent and expert on terrorism, on the subject "A night in the life of a Shabac agent" in which he will talk about a night in which 5 suicide bombers were apprehended on their way to commit a mass terrorist attack in Israel.
