- Shiurim

Babkoff resume this Shabbat (Vayikra) afternoon
between Mincha and Maariv. Reminder: The Parashat Shavua shiur
given by Menachem Malkosh, Nachum Babkoff, and
Omri Flicker in loose rotation continues
Shabbat morning after the kiddush.
- Crisis
in the Ukraine. Many of our shul members are
involved in projects to help displaced populations in the
Ukraine, and many others have asked how they can help. One of
our members, Jill Shames, is even on the front
lines in Moldova with United Hatzalah to treat the injured
refugees. The Tzeddaka committee has compiled a partial list of
organizations involved in the relief effort, and which would
welcome contributions. The list may be seen here and on the Noticeboard
("Donations Ukraine"). Please check back for updates from time
to time. More ways to help Olim from the Ukraine.
An effort is underway in Rehovot to find resources for olim who
are coming to our city from the Ukraine. Use the form to

interim report describing the many activities of the
Shul and its committees over the past 9 months may be

Heritage Center, invite the community to a special screening of
the compelling documentary "UPHEAVAL: the Story of Menaham
Begin". In English, with Hebrew Subtitles. The award-winning
writer/director is Jonathan Gruber. March 19, 2022 (Motzei

of Parashat Zakhor at Shul proper, there will be a special Torah
reading of Parashat Zakhor (without berakhot or a minyan) by

Halacha guidelines. Purim is a joyous holiday
associated with various communal and personal mitzvot and
rituals. The Omicron-Corona Pandemic continues to make large
gatherings challenging. The Purim Omicron Guidelines 5782/2022
By Rabbi Aryeh Frimer is meant to assist congregants and their
families in the fulfillment of the various customs and mitzvot
of this joyous day. We also hope to give guidance to those not
attending shul as how to best carry out the various rituals of

regret to announce the passing of Edith Reichman z"l, the
mother of our former member Steve Reichman. The
funeral was held in Brooklyn on Sunday, March 6, and Steve
will be sitting Shiva through Friday afternoon, March 11, at
3302 Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn. He can be reached at

The Hadarei Ron choir of Rehovot will be hosting a
guest choir and performing a selection of pieces from the
sources, set to both Eastern and Western motifs. The concert
is part of the series sponsored by the Municipality at the Bet
Ha'am Cultural Center, Ya'akov 48, on Friday, March 11, at

Rehovot invites you to a lecture via Zoom on
Israel-China Relations by China expert, Carice Witte,
Wednesday, March 23, at 19:30. China has been entrenching
itself in the Middle East in ways that promise to reshape the
region’s social, political and security architecture. Carice
Witte is an expert on China and China-Israel relations. She
founded SIGNAL (Sino-Israel Global Network & Academic
Leadership) and serves as its Executive Director. Ms. Witte
will share her thoughts on the increasingly multifaceted
nature of Israel-China relations. Cost: ESRA Members NIS 25,

Last
week's Basement:
- Looking
for female hiking partner with car to join me in
hiking שביל עמק המעיינות (near Beit Shean). It's 139 km in
total. My goal is to do it in sections of 13-15 km each
(that's approx 5 hours of walking), on 1-2 Fridays a
month.This entails leaving very early (it's about a 2 hour
drive) to get to hike start point by ~6 am, do the hike and be
home for Shabbat. I would like to do at least the first
section before the weather gets too hot, which will be soon.
