- Purim
festivities! Berman Community Costume
Contest. Join the Berman community after the first
Megillah reading on Purim night (about 7pm, Wednesday, March 16)
for our annual costume contest, together with music, light
refreshments and more! The contest will be MC’d by our very own
Josh Weinstein, and we’ll be giving out exciting prizes for:
funniest costume, best family costume, most creative costume,
best overall costume. If you want to join the esteemed judging

Purim Berman Community Activity. What?
Making Israel beautiful and helping out with the cleaning of a
forest in the south, following by a tiyyul with a JNF Madrich. Where?

Activities will run for about 3 hours, including the tiyul. Who?
Everyone is welcome. This will be suitable for all ages. The
activity is free. Where do I sign up? Please

your pictures that convey the diversity of our membership.

Yeladim, Pizza and Learning (HYPAL)- אֵין מְבַטְּלִין
תִּינוֹקוֹת שֶׁל בֵּית רַבָּן אֲפִילּוּ לְבִנְיַן בֵּית
הַמִּקְדָּשׁ" (שבת קי"ט) This Motzei Shabbat, we will complete
this year's HYPAL learning program for parents and children at
shul. During a challenging and rainy COVID season, about 15
families came out to learn Torah for the last 20 Saturday
nights. We want to thank the many parents who made it a priority
to bring their children to learn on Motzei Shabbat and the many
volunteers that made this all possible, from arranging lights
and seats to food and small gifts for our annual raffle. Above
all, we had fun learning with our children. As the Rambam said
in his commentary to Mishna Avot, האוהב לא ישכח דבר ממה שהיה
לעשות. HYPAL will take place this week at 18:55
under the pergola. Learning will be followed by a raffle. Please
remember to bring your tickets. Pizza this week is
sponsored by Rivki and Yair Schwarzbaum.
- ערב הורים, ילדים,
פיצה, ולימוד- השבוע מסתיימת עונת הלימוד של הורים וילדים
בבית הכנסת. גם מול אתגרים כמו מגיפה, גשם וקור, כ-15 משפחות הגיעו
ללמוד מוצ"ש אחר מוצ"ש במשך 20 השבועות האחרונים. תודה רבה להורים
שהעמידו את הלימוד בעדיפות גבוהה ותודה רבה למתנדבים הרבים שאפשרו
את הלימוד: הדלקת האורות, סידור הפרגולה, קניית הפיצות, מסירת דברי
תורה ורכישת צ'ופרים להגרלה. מעל הכל, זכינו ללימוד מהנה עם
ילדינו. כמו שכתב הרמב"ם בפירושו למשנה: "האוהב לא ישכח דבר ממה
שהיה לעשות". ערב הלימוד יתקיים בשעה 18:55 מתחת
לפרגולה. לאחר מכן תיערך הגרלת הפרסים. לא לשכוח להביא את
הכרטיסים. פיצה השבוע תרומת רבקי ויאיר שוורצבאום.
ערב הלימוד מיועד לכל הגילאים. יש להצטייד בספרים מהבית.

Tov to Davii Mandel and Izzy Leizerowitz on their first
Aliya Anniversary on March 1. They want to extend a
warm thank you and Hakarat HaTov to the many new friends they
have made in the past year, and to the whole Shul Community
for making their arrival here in Berman and Rehovot such an
amazing experience.

regret to announce the passing of Kadish Goldberg z'l
brother of one of our founding members, Honey Berenson.
Honey is sitting Shiva in Kibbutz Tirat Zvi through Sunday
morning, March 6th, and is expected to be back home in Nofei
Yerushalayim by Sunday night.
- Choral
Concert. The Hadarei Ron choir of Rehovot will be
hosting a guest choir and performing a selection of pieces
from the sources, set to both Eastern and Western motifs. The
concert is part of the series sponsored by the Municipality at
the Bet Ha'am Cultural Center, Ya'akov 48, on Friday, March
11, at 11:00. Entrance is free. Details here

Rehovot invites you to a live presentation by Louise
Stobicki on the musical “Gypsy,” Monday, March 7 at
Havayot Schweitz, 1 Kronenberg, Rehovot. 19:45 Light
Refreshments, 20:00 Presentation.“Gypsy" is one of the most
popular Broadway musicals of the 20th century. Critics have
heralded it as one of the best American musicals, if not the
greatest, and the original Broadway production was nominated
for nine Tony awards. In the past, Louise has enlightened us
with her talks on “South Pacific,” “West Side Story,” and
“Oklahoma,” and she is delighted to have another opportunity
to share her passion for Broadway songs with us. Admission:

program.
- Looking
for female hiking partner with car to join me in
hiking שביל עמק המעיינות (near Beit Shean). It's 139 km in
total. My goal is to do it in sections of 13-15 km each
(that's approx 5 hours of walking), on 1-2 Fridays a
month.This entails leaving very early (it's about a 2 hour
drive) to get to hike start point by ~6 am, do the hike and be
home for Shabbat. I would like to do at least the first
section before the weather gets too hot, which will be soon.
If anyone is interested and can commit to 1-2 Fridays a month,
