• ESRA Rehovot Outdoor Event January 12, 2022. Visit The Khan Shaar HaGai Museum, recently established in a Khan built about 1870 to serve pilgrims traveling to Jerusalem and later immigrants who arrived in Jaffa and settled in Jerusalem. Guided tour to hear about the historic events that occurred there. Then to Iza Pziza Goat Farm: This family goat farm was begun in 2005, starting with 25 goats. Our visit will include a tour, followed by an explanation and a practical lesson on cheese-making. We will make our own cheese (kosher) to take home, with its recipe, and end the tour with coffee and cake. Transport in private vehicles. Meet at the museum at 10:00. Space is limited. • AMIT Purim project. Now that Hanukkah is over, it’s time to start thinking about Purim! Here in Rehovot, we have an active AMIT Chug and our biggest fund-raiser is the Purim Mishloach Manot Project with about 310 families participating, including many members of the Berman community. We have begun preparing for Purim 2022. As COVID is still with us, we will be offering again a choice of a voucher to a local business in lieu of the Mishloach Manot Basket or a greeting card. • Movie made by several of our members regarding the importance of pulse oximetry in COVID patients. Dr. Richard Levitan, who first coined the term "silent hypoxia", explains why using a simple, inexpensive pulse oximeter to monitor blood oxygen saturation can spot the onset of serious COVID-related lung damage even before the patient feels any symptoms. Arrival at the hospital when the damage has just begun simplifies treatment, reduces treatment time and prevents unnecessary deaths. The story of Adi Rosenfeld Lalou demonstrates how important this can be.
