• The New Member Kiddush was a great success! You can see the answers to the FUN FACTS here. This week is Mix it uP! We hope everyone will enjoy meeting each other and form new bonds. Thank you so much to the hospitality committee for all their hard work: Vanessa Brooks, Elisheva Feferman, Sorelle Weinstein, Marissa Yarm, Emily Wind, Abby Sternlicht, and Sharyn Strauss.
• HYPAL is back! Horim, Yeladim, Pizza and Learning (HYPAL)--- Every Sat. night from 18:15 to 19:15, weather permitting, in the amphitheater outside the shul. For last-minute updates, please join the HYPAL whatsapp group. All ages are welcome. Attendees will need to comply with Ministry of Health regulations. Please bring your own books or study materials. We are also looking for parents to volunteer to organize HYPAL for the rest of the season, and to give divrei Torah; please contact Ori Brill or Omri Flicker.

• Kristallnacht remembrance lecture. Next Tuesday night November 9th at 20:30, in remembrance of Kristallnacht, Yad Vashem is having an event all over Israel called "Light in the Synagogue", in which lecturers from Yad Vashem go to many congregations throughout Israel and talk about some of the famous shuls in Germany (for more information see https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Rq27wfkK4n3EDRfKYHi_mQAaMJCTfbjf/view?usp=sharing). We are honored to have Sara Shanani (yes, she is related) give us a lecture in Hebrew via Zoom on three shuls in Germany. Sara will be talking about the following shuls: The great Synagogue of Hamburg, where she will talk about Rav Karlibach and his unique educational doctrine; the "New" Synagogue in Frankfort and Rav Shimshon Rephael Hirsh's "Torah with Derech Eretz"; and Rashi's shul in Worms, where she will talk about the miraculous way that the Worms Machzor was saved from destruction. • Jointly sponsored Yahrtzeit kiddush - Kislev. The Kislev JSK will be held on November 13th, Parashat Vayetzei.
