- We are
grieved to announce the passing of our member Sara Edelman
ז"ל, the wife of our member Meir Edelman and the mother of our
member Arie Edelman. The funeral took place on
Motza’ei Shabbat, August 7th, at the Rehovot cemetery. The
family is sitting shiva through Friday afternoon, August 13.
They may be reached at 08-947-3320. Because of the deteriorating
COVID-19 situation, the family requests no visits, and there
will be no Minyanim for the duration of the Shiva. Any updates
or changes will be posted on the bereavement page (http://www.bermanshul.org/shiva)

- We
regret to announce the passing of Jeff (יעקב בן יוסף ופרימיט)
Safran ז"ל, brother of our member Shmuel Safran. The
funeral took place in Florida on Wednesday 11th August, followed
by Shiva until early Tuesday morning, August 17th. Due to the
COVID situation, condolences should only be expressed during the
Shiva via phone (054-9009152 or 08-9361631), WhatsApp, or email
(sam.safran@weizmann.ac.il).

- Book
sale. The Feigelson kids will be holding a used
book sale on Thursday August 12 from 17:00-20:00 at the
outdoor lobby of 35 Hanassi Harishon St. Hundreds of books for
all ages (children-teens-adults), primarily in English (but
many in Hebrew too). For further details, Whattsap Sara 050-510-9667 or
just show up!
- Shiur at Chatam
by Rabbi Daniel Yaakov Travis, the well know
author of “Praying with Joy” and Rosh Kollel of Toras Chaim
in Yerushalayim. Shiur and discussion on the topic of
thanking Hashem when things look bad, a subject that each
one of us has thought about and dealt with in real life, be
it on a personal, communal or national level. Place: Chatam
hall, 1 Shkolnik St, Rehovot. Time: Wednesday, 18th August
2021 (10 Elul) at 20.00. Language: English. The shiur is for
men and women. Maariv will take place after the shiur, at
about 21.00.
Last week's Basement:
- Emunah
Calendars. There are still a few calendars (with
recipes) waiting to be bought at the cost of NIS 40 each.
Please contact Evelynne Goldman on 0547 652902 to purchase
yours, and if you have reserved one please call before you
come to collect. All profits go to our Emunah projects.
- Book
donations wanted. A relatively new religious
elementary school in Jerusalem wants to build an English
library for the use of the children there. They are looking
for used or new English children's books, even toddler's
books, in any topic that is appropriate for a religious school
(not necessarily on Jewish topics). If anyone has books that
they would like to give away please contact Mechael Kanovsky
