- Membership
Renewal and Yomim Noraim. Registration will open in
early/mid August, with current
shul members
to be sent an email that will contain a link to the form for
membership renewal and seats for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. Newcomers who did not yet
do so may preregister (www.bermanshul.org/newmember) to receive the notice at
the same time as members. Please check your contact details on
the Shul website (http://bermanshul.org/member/family?display=edit#adults) to ensure we have your
correct email address. If you cannot log-in because your
membership has lapsed, you may re-register retroactively for 2020/21 (www.bermanshul.org/reg5781). Otherwise, you can wait
and order seats later as a non-member (subject to availability).
Current members who find they cannot log-in should contact webmaster@bermanshul.org.

- A shiur
in commemoration of Ellen Hexter's z"l 10th Yahrzeit
will be given [in Hebrew] by Rabbi Chaim Navon on Wednesday July
28 (19 Menachem Av) at 20:00 in the shul. The shiur will be on
"Rav Soloveichick on parenting and education".

- Jointly
sponsored Yahrtzeit kiddush - Av. The Av JSK will be
held on August 7th, Parashat Re'eh. To participate in the
kiddush, please contact Judd Bogdansky (jbogdansky@gmail.com)
no later than Monday, Aug 2nd. Participation: 150 NIS per person
memorialized. Judd confirms all emails he receives; if you do
not hear back, please follow up.

for men / women to come and study with converts to prepare
them for their test in the Beit din. You can come for
all the evening or part of it. The goal is to sit in pairs or
very small groups and go over material and questions. You need

- Movie
starring Bermans members. Pesifas, the Berman shul
outreach project to the general (non-dati) public, has a
managing body made up of an equal number of religious and
non-religious members. Last year, as a new initiative to help
children from needy families during the COVID pandemic,
Pesifas members helped raise money for schoolbags (tik lecol
yeled), and then for refurbishing computers to allow remote
learning. We made a movie describing this effort, Hatikun
Hagadol Hamemuchshav, which will be shown on Channel 98, the
public TV cable channel. The movie was produced by and

- ESRA
Rehovot Zoom Presentation “Johann Sebastian Bach: The man
behind the music.” Presented by Gershom Martin,
Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 19:30. Recent scholarship is
placing Bach’s life and works in a new light. Dr. Martin will
sketch what we now know about Bach’s life; the childhood
traumas that marked him for life; the power struggles in which
he became an unwilling pawn; the degree to which his extended
family acted as a safety net; and above all, the context of
his time and place. Cost: ESRA Members NIS 25. Non-members NIS
