SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS

- Thank
you to outgoing president Sidney Cohen
and outgoing board members Sharyn Strauss and
David Leifer for their many years of [and
continuing] service to the community! We wish success to the
incoming and continuing board and audit committee, and
especially to the new President Emanuel Weisgras.
- Parents
are kindly asked to remind their children to behave nicely at
the kiddush. The kids should not push their way to
the tables, grab food from the kiddush workers, or take huge
hoardes. Please supervise your kids, to help make the kiddush
enjoyable for everyone.
- Jointly
sponsored Yahrtzeit kiddushim are back! The Tammuz
JSK will be held on July 3rd, Parashat Pinchas. To participate
in the kiddush, please contact Judd Bogdansky (jbogdansky@gmail.com)
no later than Monday, June 28th. Participation: 150 NIS per
person memorialized. Judd confirms all emails he receives; if
you do not hear back, please follow up.

- Updates
for Yizkor list. As the shul Yizkor lists are no
longer read aloud, we are updating them to include the names of
both parents of deceased members. If you are interested in such
a change, please review the lists (here (women) and here (men)) to see how the name currently
appears, and send missing or corrected information to bea.kriger@gmail.com.

- Those
making donations to the shul are asked to refrain
from giving cash, and to use either checks or direct internet
transfers to our account (due to limitations in availability of
[volunteer] manpower).
- Volunteer
needed - bookkeeping for the shul. Anyone with a
background in bookkeeping and/or knowledge of Hashavshevet
bookkeeping program and who is prepared to help the Shul
financial team is requested to contact Gerry Tanny. The work,
which can be done by computer from home, involves entering
donations into the Shul financial system, and deposits to the
G'mach system.
- Anyone
interested in giving divrei Torah in shul (men/women
boys and girls) from Parshat Pinchas and onwards should contact
Mechael Kanovsky at kanovsky@gmail.com. Additionally, those
who have a simcha and would want to speak at the simcha (or
reserve it for a family member or friend) should contact Mechael
Kanovsky as well.
- Teenage
kiddush workers needed for Shabbat mornings. Age 14
and up. Those interested should contact Judd Bogdansky at jbogdansky@gmail.com

concert. On June 17, at 19:00, the Hadarei Ron
Choir of Rehovot will be performing as part of a choral
evening sponsored by the Rehovot Municipality, on the open
lawn in front of Havayot Schweitz, 52 Sereni. The repertoire
will consist of original selections from Sefer Tehilim, plus
popular Israeli music, exclusively arranged by the choir’s

Zoom with Haviv Rettig Gur on Wednesday, June 23, 19:30.
Two Jewish communities in the world today number in the
millions: Israelis and Americans. Over the past century, they
have diverged in profound ways, in their history, their
religion, their basic assumptions about identity and
Jewishness. Unfortunately, the two major Jewish civilizations
to emerge from the destruction of the old European and
Arab-world communities are increasingly unable to speak to
each other or even understand each other. Haviv will look
deeper into the gaps, and try to suggest a possible path
forward to a more unified Jewish future. Haviv Rettig Gur, an
Israeli journalist, is the political correspondent and senior
analyst for The Times of Israel. Cost: ESRA Members NIS 25,
