• Mazal Tov to Barbara Kalman on the birth of her first great grandchild, a boy, born to her grandchildren Joseph Nichol and his wife Hadas Levinsky Nichol, of Rehovot, son of her children Linda and Terry Nichol of London, Ontario. Mazal tov to great-uncles Josh Kalman, and Daniel Kalman and families, in Israel and New Zealand, and to the rest of the family in the US, Canada, Sweden and Israel.

Bereavement and Memorial זיכרון ושכול:

• We are deeply grieved to announce the untimely passing of our member David Dym z”l, the husband of our member Susie Dym, father of Nadav, Gilad, Calanit, Shuli, Talya and Hagai, the son of our members Irene and Harry Dym, the son-in-law of our member Ruth Segel and the brother of Michael Dym. The families will be sitting shiva through Friday early afternoon, August 14 at the Dym home, Meltzer 7. Up to date davening times and other information may be found at http://www.bermanshul.org/shiva. Friday Mincha at 13:20. Irene and Harry Dym will be at the shiva home at specific times, as noted on the website. • Minutes of the July 14th board meeting are available on the Member Documents section of our website (member login required).

• There will be a (virtual) general membership meeting on Wednesday 26 August 20:00 to review and approve the shul financial statements for 2019, and confirm appointment of the accountant. Zoom details will be provided next week, and audited statements will be placed on the members' section of the website next week for your review.

• Shofar: If you think you'll need to blow shofar for yourself or someone else this year, or if you're just interested in learning how to blow shofar, Dan Feigelson has posted several videos to YouTube, available here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJ8FjZ-aqypqPQIlMA6wd9A.
• Urgently needed- Shlichei Tzibbur for the Yamim Noraim (coaching provided). Due to projected necessity to hold several outdoor minyanim, the Shul needs more Baalei Tefilla to daven before the amud. Currently, we project a shortage of baalei Tefilla available and willing to help out this year. Anyone interested in participating as a “Chazan Rishon (Mussafim on R”H and Y’K, Kol Nidre night night & Neilah) or Chazzan Sheni (Shacharit and Mincha on R’H and Y”K) over the Yamim Noraim or as a Ba’al Tokeah, should please be in touch with Daniel Schwartz at cantordbsesq@gmail.com. If it’s a been while since you last davened as a chazzan on the Yamim Noraim, Daniel is available to coach people in Nussach.
