• Mazal Tov to Betsy and Alan Bogdansky on the birth of a granddaughter, a daughter to their children Erica and Reuben Scherzer. Mazal Tov as well to Aunt and Uncle Judd and Elana Bogdansky.

Bar/Bat Mitzva:

• Mazal tov to Nettie and Leo Beer on the Bar Mitzvah of their grandson Tom Kalman Eckhaus, son of Calanit and Alon Eckhaus of Rehovot. Mazal Tov to his siblings, Ella, Ari and Matan and the entire extended Beer family.

SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS תזכורות, אירועים ופעילויות של בית הכנסת

• Minyanim – In addition to the 6:30 daily minyan, we have reinstated most Shabbat minyanim: For Shabbat Behar- Behukotai we will hold minyanim for erev Shabbat, 2 morning minyanim, and Mincha. These minyanim are limited to 50 participants each, no children below age 12 allowed. Links for each minyan can be found on the COVID-19 page, as well as rules which must be read and adhered to and release of liability form. IN LIGHT OF THE NEED TO BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY AND CONTACT PARTICIPANTS AND THEIR FAMILIES, AS NECESSARY, SIGN-UP AND ATTENDANCE IS LIMITED TO SHUL MEMBERS AT THIS TIME. We stress that these minyanim are for davening ONLY – please avoid gathering or socializing, and those in high risk categories are advised to stay home. ונשמרתם מאד לנפשתיכם Please note that unusually warm weather is predicted for Shabbat. Please bring your personal water bottle and head covering (shade may not be available to all participants).

• Weekly divrei Torah. Any member who wants to post an original dvar Torah on the upcoming parshiyot is invited to send it to education@bermanshul.org.
• Zoom Mini minyan is pausing as the kids are back in school/gan, and the organizers are looking forward to resuming in-person soon. Please see the live calendar for real time updates regarding other activities.
• Kaddish. As you are aware, we have reinstated our weekday morning minyan. There are however members of the shul who due to the Ministry of Health regulations or for personal reasons, cannot attend the minyan, among them people reciting Kaddish for departed loved ones. In consultation with the board and R. Aryeh Frimer, Daniel Schwartz is available to say Kaddish on behalf of people unable to do so at this time. Please email Daniel at cantordbsesq@gmail.com with the name of the person for whom you are saying Kaddish, and he will do so at the morning minyan. R' Frimer has also advised that in addition to the recitation of Kaddish, people learn Torah and give tzedakkah “l’ilui nishmat" the departed.
