• Halachot of Pesach in light of Coronavirus. The current pandemic has triggered many Halachic questions regarding this year's observance of Pesach. Please see the Noticeboard for a document from the Halacha Committee ["Guidelines from Berman Vaad Halacha"] addressing several of these issues, namely: Selling Chametz, Tevilat Keilim, Burning Chametz, and haircuts and shopping in preparation for Yom Tov.
• Maot Hittim. The Zedaka Committee wishes to remind those who have not yet sent their donations for Maot Hittim to do so as soon as possible. This year it is more critical than in previous years. Please be generous and send your contributions this week, so we can reach out to people before the chag. We take this opportunity to wish all our members excellent health, and chag kasher v’sameach and pray that we return to better times soon. • Mutual help. We are living through unprecedented times. We are forced to self-isolate and are unable to see our friends, family members, and loved ones, out of a need to protect everyone's health and safety. Our shul had to close its doors, which is extremely challenging and difficult given what a warm and loving community we are blessed to be a part of. We might not be able to physically see each other but that doesn't mean that our community shouldn't stay connected during this lonely time. Even just a short phone call once a day goes a long way in keeping our community strong and united. If you would like to connect with a shul member - whether it be with someone who is around your age group, younger, or older, and possibly even create a friendship in the process - please fill out this form and we will pair you with a fellow shul member for daily chats and check-ins. • Online content. In an effort to make the time we’re all spending in isolation both more meaningful and pass a little quicker, the shul has undertaken to provide programming on a wide variety of topics of interest. If you are interested in giving a lecture/shiur/presentation, on any topic of interest, our Zoom account will be made available on our website. In addition, the Education Committee is looking for someone to help with uploading and arranging in an easily accessible way, recordings of many of the lectures given at Berman shul and at the "Beit Midrash Letanach". • **Tonight**This year's Drashat Shabbat HaGadol will be given by Rabbi Aryeh Frimer in English and will take place on Thursday Evening April 2nd at 8 PM (20:00). The Shiur will deal with : " כי לו נאה כי לו יאה - אדיר הוא – אחד מי יודע" (as much as we can cover in an hour). A source sheet for the shiur may be found on the Noticeboard.   Some of the important highlights from the CRC Guide are as follows:
  - All pill medication (with or without chametz) that one swallows is permitted without special hashgacha. Vitamins and Food supplements do not necessarily fall under this category.
  - Liquid and chewable medications that contain kitniyot are permitted for one who is ill.
  - All varieties of body soaps, shampoos and stick deodorants are permitted for use on Pesach regardless of their ingredients.
  - All types of ointments, creams, nail polish, hand lotions, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, blush, foot and face powders, and ink and paint may be used regardless of their ingredients.
  -Lipstick, mouthwash and toothpaste which contain Chametz should not be used.
  -Alcohol products produced in the USA do not contain grain alcohol.
