SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS תזכורות, אירועים ופעילויות של בית הכנסת

• Lecture Sunday, January 12, Naama Galil, senior lecturer and project manager at Yad Veshem will speak [in Hebrew] on Jewish leadership in the Holocaust. Maariv 19:50, lecture 20:00. This is the 5th time Naama has come to speak at Bermans, and each time she has captivated the audience with her breadth of knowledge and story-telling abilities.
• הרצאה. לכבוד תקופת יום הקדיש הכללי העשירי בטבת, הנכם מוזמנים להרצאה בעברית מאת נעמה גליל מרצה בכירה ומנהלת פרויקטים באגף הנצחה וקשרי קהילה ביד ושם שתרצה בעברית על הנושא: "מנהיגות והנהגה יהודית בתקופת השואה". נעמה גליל היסטוריונית העוסקת בתחקירים היסטוריים בתקופת השואה. והייתה חלק מצוות ההיסטוריונים שעסק בהקמתו של המוזיאון החדש לתולדות השואה שנבנה ביד ושם. משנת 2003 מונתה כאחראית על כתיבת הטקסטים במוזיאון ובמסגרת זו כתבה את הפנלים ההיסטוריים, הסיפורים האישיים, כיתובי הסרטים ועוד. היא ייסדה את מחלקת ההדרכה באגף הסברה, המתמחה בהדרכת מבוגרים וביקורים רשמיים. יום ראשון, ט"ו טבת, 12 לינואר 2020. מעריב: 19:50 הרצאה: 20:00
• Mess in the back of the shul and library. Of late, Hashkama minyan participants have been encountering a mess including games, unshelved books, Bamba packages, and general disorder upon their arrival Shabbat morning. Anyone, of any age, who sits in the back of the shul and the library during Friday night tefillot, MUST clean up after themselves and THEIR KIDS (shelve books and siddurim, return or take shabbat sheets (eg., Torah Tidbits), put away games, throw out garbage, return chairs to their place), so that the shul is in proper and usable condition on Shabbat morning.
• Horim, Yeladim, Pizza and Learning (HYPAL) Sat. night from 18:15 to 19:15. Pizza this week is donated by anonymous sponsors, in memory of their beloved grandparents. All ages are welcome.
• ערב הורים, ילדים, פיצה ולימוד יתקיים במוצאי שבת בספריית בית הכנסת, בין 18:15-19:15. פיצה השבוע נתרם לעילוי נשמת ברוך בן יעקב, פרומה בת אליעזר, חיים אליעזר בן יחיאל, בילא בת חיים, ושמואל ירמיהו בן שאול. ערב הלימוד מיועד לכל הגילאים.
• The AGM will take place on Feb 1. If anyone has items that they would like to add to the agenda, please send them to Raphy Nudelman at president@bermanshul.org by Jan 15. We cannot guarantee that there will be enough time to discuss items that weren’t submitted in advance.
• האסיפה הכללית השנתית תתקיים ב-1 בפברואר. במידה ותרצו להוסיף נושאים נוספים לסדר היום, אנא שלחו אותם לרפי נודלמן בכתובת president@bermanshul.org עד 15 בינואר. לא נוכל להבטיח שיהיה מספיק זמן לדיון בנושאים שלא הוגשו מבעוד מועד.
• Daf Yomi. Mazal Tov to our members who completed the current cycle of Daf Yomi: Keith Brooks, Charles Hexter, Yisrael Levitt (3rd cycle!), Larry Israel, Gerry Tanny, Jacob Steinmetz, and R' Asher Veiner, who for many years gave the daily Berman’s Daf Yomi shiur.
• Volunteers needed to give Divrei Torah for parshiot in Sefer Shemot. Reserve now, while a wide choice of parshiot still remains. Please contact Mechael Kanovsky.
• מי שמעוניין לתת דבר תורה על פרשה בספר שמות מתבקש לפנות למיכאל קנובסקי. שריינו מקומות כבר עכשיו, כל עוד נשאר מבחר רחב של פרשיות.
• Torah readers needed for many parshiot for 5780. To volunteer, please contact Shmulie Pineles for the main minyan, or Moshe Appel (looking especially for sefer shemot) for the Hashkama minyan. Volunteers through high school age are paid by the shul for their efforts.
