- Shiur [in English] in memory of Avi Kanon z'l. Sunday Nov. 10, 2019. Ma'ariv, 7:50 pm; Shiur, 8:00 pm. "The Binding of Isaac," an event that shakes our sense of natural morality. Why did God make this command? What are we to learn? Rabbi Mois Navon, one of the founding engineers of Mobileye, is known as the "Rabbi of Mobileye". He is now working on a PhD in Jewish Philosophy. - **NEW**Volunteers wanted to take part in our Berman Bikur Holim group. We will visit community members when they request a visit, whether at their home or in the hospital. If you’d like to join, your name will be added to our Whatsapp group in which the administrator texts the name of the member who requests a visit as well as the time he/she would like to be visited. (Only the administrator can send messages so replies will not be seen by anyone other than the admin). If you are available, then you send a text to me (Freida) stating so. - Next week- Our annual "MIX IT
UP!" Shabbat - The Berman Community has
been blessed again with many new families in the last year. To
help everyone get to know each other, we are planning a
very special Shabbat combining a Kiddush in honor of new
members, name tags AND the MiX it uP meals. On
Shabbat Lech-Lecha (Nov. 8-9):
·The Kiddush will be sponsored by the shul in honor of our new members.
·There will be name tags prepared for all members, which you may optionally affix to your clothing. Non-Berman members are invited to receive a name tag by registering here.
·We will be pairing families for a Shabbat meal. Everyone interested in being "MIXED UP" for a meal please RSVP to hospitality@bermanshul.org by Sunday Nov. 3rd (add names, if you prefer to host or be hosted, number of people, ages of children, if there are any allergies, if you are dog/cat-friendly).

RHform - Shiurim in the Beit Midrash Nishmat Chaya will resume on Tuesday November 12th at 8.00. Rav Lindenbaum will give a series of shiurim on the topic: How do Torah and Halacha meet the challenges of the changing world?Please note the change of time.

- Torah readers needed for many parshiot for 5780. To volunteer, please contact Shmulie Pineles for the main minyan, or Moshe Appel (looking especially for sefer shmot) for the Hashkama minyan. Volunteers through high school age are paid by the shul for their efforts.

- Women are invited to an inspiring evening at Beit Chatam in memory of Heshie Basch z'l. Beit Chatam is in the midst of a major campaign to build an elevator in order to provide much needed accessibility to the shul. To this end Neshei Chatam is bringing noted speaker and award winning educator, Mrs. Shira Smiles to Rehovot for a speaking engagement. Mrs. Smiles will speak in the Beit Chatam simcha hall on Nov. 4th at 8:15 p.m. Topic: Parshat Lech Lecha: "The Grand March". The talk is dedicated l'ilui nishmat Heshie Basch z"l (Tzvi ben Aharon) and all proceeds will be going towards funding the construction of the elevator, a project already in progress. Last week's Basement
- Planning pre-aliya pilot trip - looking for Rehovot "guides". My name is Shira and my husband, Shimon, and I are hoping to visit Rehovot on November 5 and 6 as part of our pilot trip. We are hoping to make Aliyah in the summer of 2021, and are seriously considering moving to Rehovot! We are looking for someone who is familiar with the area to give us a tour of housing options, schools, parks, shopping centers, and community highlights. Would anyone be available on November 5 or 6 to help us explore the community? I am an occupational therapist and Shimon is an aerospace engineer and computer scientist. When we move, our children will be 7 (boy), 5 (girl), and 1. We will not be bringing them on our pilot trip, but are very interested in looking at what Rehovot has to offer in terms of schooling.
