• We regret to announce the passing of Audrey Greenberg z”l, the sister of our member Mel Lax. The funeral was held in the U.S. Mel is sitting shiva at his home, 13/2 Hava Lutsky, through Sunday morning, Sept. 9. Please visit from 9:00-12:00, and from 15:00-21:00. The phone numbers are 08-9476223, 050-9444615. There will be no minyan for Shacharit, and none on Motzaei Shabbat, Sept. 8. • The Azkara commemorating the 5th Yahrtzeit of our member Yehuda (Udi) Gilai ז"ל will take place on Wednesday 3 Tishrei (12/9/2018); family and friends will meet at the gate at 16:45 at the Rehovot Cemetery.

• Slichot. Schedule of daily Slichot is available on the September pdf calendar. Nevertheless, please note that in contrast to what is written on the calendar: There will be Slichot but no Maariv, at 22:30 on Sept 11, Motzei RH, and on Sept 12, after Tzom Gedalya.
• סליחות: לוח זמנים לסליחות בלוח החודשי בקובץ ה-PDF. עם זאת, נא לשים לב כי בניגוד למה שרשום בלוח יהיו סליחות ללא תפילת ערבית בשעה 22:30 ביום 11 בספטמבר, צאת ראש השנה, וביום 12 בספטמבר בסיום צום גדליה.
• Set up for Beit Midrash and Hashkama minyanim. Volunteers needed to help set up the rooms for the Beit Midrash and Hashkama minyanim. Beit Midrash setup will take place on Saturday night Sept 8th at 20:30. Hashkama minyan setup will take place Thursday night September 6th (tonight!) at 21:00. Further Hashkama setup will take place on Friday afternoon September 7th between 13:00 and 15:00. Both rooms will be reset immediately after Maariv on Motzaei Rosh Hashana. Please remember that we are a single community and please come help (it will not take long) whichever minyan you plan to attend.
• ארגון חדרי התפילה עבור מניין בית המדרש, ומניין ההשכמה. דרושים מתנדבים לעזור לארגן את החדרים עבור מניין בית המדרש במוצאי שבת 8.9 בשעה 20:30, ומניין ההשכמה ביום חמישי -הערב 6.9- ב21:00, וסיום סידור החדר ביום ששי 7.9 בין 13:00-15:00, וכן לפרק את המחיצות ולסדר מחדש את החדרים מיד אחרי ערבית במוצאי חג. אנא זכרו כי אנחנו קהילה אחת ובואו לעזור ללא תלות במניין שבו אתם מתכוונים להתפלל (זה לא יקח הרבה זמן).

• Volunteer [female] usher needed during tefillot in the Main minyan. Looking for a woman who will be davening in the downstairs section of the main minyan to help people find their assigned seats, as needed, and gently resolve any seating issues. If you are willing to help, please contact Jerry Kriger.
• Maariv on Rosh Hashana will be held only in the main shul on Sunday and Monday evenings. There are no reserved seats, and the balcony will be used for men's seating. The downstairs women's section will be open as usual for women.
• תפילת מעריב בראש השנה תתקיים רק בבית הכנסת המרכזי בערבי רביעי וחמישי. אין מקומות שמורים, והיציע ישמש למושבי הגברים. עזרת הנשים תהיה פתוחה כרגיל, לנשים.
• Start times for the various minyanim on Rosh Hashana morning:

• There will be an additional shofar blowing at 12:15 in the main shul on both days of Rosh Hashana for those who are unable to be inside during the davening. Please allow people to leave at the end of services before coming in, but please be on time, as those blowing shofar will not blow repeatedly for latecomers.
• תקיעת שופר נוספת תתקיים בשעה 12:15 בבית כנסת המרכזי בשני ימי ראש השנה עבור אלו שאינם יכולים לשהות בבית כנסת בזמן התפילה. אנא אפשרו לאנשים לצאת מבית הכנסת בסוף התפילה לפני שנכנסים, אך אנא הגיעו בזמן מכיוון שהתוקעים לא יתקעו שוב עבור המאחרים.

• Strollers. As always, those attending the Main and Hashkama minyanim are asked to leave strollers outside the building. Strollers may be brought into the Beit Midrash minyan, but must be kept in the back of the room; strollers may be brought into the minyan in the Yeshiva library. All the venues are wheelchair accessible with the exception of the Beit Midrash.
• עגלות. כמו תמיד, מתפללים שמגיעים למניין המרכזי ולהשכמה מתבקשים להשאיר את העגלות מחוץ למבנה. ניתן להכניס עגלות למניין בית המדרש, אך יש להשאירן בחלקו האחורי של החדר; ניתן להכניס עגלות אל המניין בספריית הישיבה. כל המתחמים נגישים לכיסאות גלגלים, למעט בית המדרש.
• Please bring your own machzorim to all the minyanim, as the shul has only a very limited number available.

• A joint Kiddush will be held under the pergola for the Main and Beit Midrash minyanim, and a joint qiddush will be held under the pergola for both of the early minyanim (Hashkama and Library) upon their completion of tefillot. A representative from each minyan will recite kiddush.

• Lecture in memory of Avi Kanon z'l. Rabbi Mois Navon will speak in English on “Ethical Dilemmas in Programming Autonomous Vehicles”, Sunday Sept 16 at 20:00. Details on the Noticeboard.

They met at Tel Aviv University, married in Haifa and he took to her to NY where she worked as a fundraiser for the American Friends of the Israel Museum until she retired 8 months ago.Danny was a mainframe computer programmer/analyst for over 20 years, earned a second Masters Degree and became a high school history teacher. He plays clarinet and saxophone, and has joined the Rehovot Wind Instruments Band. He has also been recruited for the Berman Men's choir!
