• We regret to announce the passing of Jack Nasielski z”l, the father of our member Lilly Jacobi. The funeral took place on Sunday evening (after sunset), August 26th, at the Rehovot cemetery. Lilly is sitting shiva at her home, 52 Aleph/Apt. 6 Hanassi Harishon until Sunday morning September 2nd. Her phone number is 058-509-5274. • There will be an Azkara for the 10th yahrzeit for Hazzan Taube z”l Thursday afternoon August 30th (19 Elul) at 5:30 P.M. at the Rehovot Cemetery.

• High holidays. Late fees apply for seat orders. If you have not yet reserved seats, links to the seat reservation form, and many other useful links may be found on our homepage at www.bermanshul.org. If you reserved seats and did not receive the email with payment instructions, general instructions can be found at: https://www.bermanshul.org/payments. The Beit Midrash minyan is full, and registration for that minyan is closed. If you are still planning to purchase seats (late fees apply), please choose one of the other minyanim (main, Hashkama, or library).

• Slichot. First evening Slichot will take place this Saturday night September 1st at 22:30. Schedule of daily Slichot is available on the September pdf calendar. Nevertheless, please note that in contrast to what is written on the calendar: a. There will be Maariv+Slichot at 22:20 on Sept 2, and b. there will be Slichot but no Maariv, at 22:30 on Sept 11, Motzei RH, and on Sept 12, after Tzom Gedalya.
• סליחות: ערב ראשון של סליחות יתקיים אי"ה במוצ"ש הקרוב, ה-1 בספטמבר, בשעה 22:30. לוח זמנים לסליחות בלוח החודשי בקובץ ה-PDF.עם זאת, נא לשים לב כי בניגוד למה שרשום בלוח: א) כן יהיה מנין וסליחות בשעה 22:20 ב-2 בספטמבר, ו-ב) יהיו סליחות ללא תפילת ערבית בשעה 22:30 ביום 11 בספטמבר, צאת ראש השנה, וביום 12 בספטמבר בסיום צום גדליה.
• Set up for Beit Midrash and Hashkama minyanim. Volunteers needed to help set up the rooms for the Beit Midrash minyan next Saturday night Sept 8th at 20:30, and to dismantle the Mechitzot and reset the rooms, immediately after Maariv on Motzaei Rosh Hashana. Set up day and time for the Hashkama minyan will be announced next week. Please remember that we are a single community and please come help (it will not take long) whichever minyan you plan to attend.
• ארגון חדרי התפילה עבור מניין בית המדרש, ומניין ההשכמה. דרושים מתנדבים לעזור לארגן את החדרים עבור מניין בית המדרש, במוצאי שבת 8/9 בשעה 20:30, וכן לפרק את המחיצות ולסדר מחדש את החדרים מיד אחרי ערבית במוצאי חג. אנא זכרו כי אנחנו קהילה אחת ובואו לעזור ללא תלות במניין שבו אתם מתכוונים להתפלל (זה לא יקח הרבה זמן).
• Beit Midrash Nishmat Chaya. The next shiur will take place in the Beit Midrash this Tuesday at the usual time, 19.30. All are welcome to attend and bring friends.
• בית מדרש נשמת חיה. ביום שלישי יתקיים שעור בבית המדרש בשעה 7.30. נשמח לראות עוד משתתפים בשעורים.
• Lecture in memory of Avi Kanon z'l. Rabbi Mois Navon will speak in English on “Ethical Dilemmas in Programming Autonomous Vehicles”, Sunday Sept 16 at 20:00. Details on the Noticeboard.
• Volunteers needed to give Divrei Torah for parshiot in Sefer Bereshit. Reserve now, while a wide choice of parshiot still remains. Please contact Mechael Kanovsky.

• Welcome to Monique and Daniel Birenbaum! The Birenbaum’s made Aliyah in January 2018 from Mount Kisco, NY. Monique was born in Fez, Morocco and came to Israel at age 14 with Youth Aliyah. Danny was born in Manhattan. They met at Tel Aviv University, married in Haifa and he took to her to NY where she worked as a fundraiser for the American Friends of the Israel Museum until she retired 8 months ago.Danny was a mainframe computer programmer/analyst for over 20 years, earned a second Masters Degree and became a high school history teacher. He plays clarinet and saxophone, and has joined the Rehovot Wind Instruments Band. He has also been recruited for the Berman Men's choir!
