Beit Midrash Nishmat Chaya. There will be no shiurim in the Beit Midrash during Chanuka (19/12/17). After Chanuka, Rav Dr Talbi will begin a new series of shiurim on the topic סיכון עצמי לשם הצלת אחרים We invite you to join us and bring your friends.

Annual 10th of Tevet Yom Ha-Kaddish Haclali lecture by Naama Galil from Yad Vashem on the 24th of December. Details to follow.
יום ראשון אור לז' טבת ה24 לדצמבר בשמונה בערב תתקיים ההרצאה השנתית ליום הקדיש הכללי (עשרה בטבת) בבית הכנסת. ההרצאה תנתן על ידי נעמה גליל, חוקרת בכירה ביד ושם. נושא ההרצאה וכן פרטים נוספים ינתנו בהמשך.
Scholar in Residence. On Shabbat Parshat Vayigash (5th of Tevet, December 23rd) we are pleased to host a Dr. Shlomo Fischer, Senior Fellow at the Jewish People Policy Institute and a lecturer in sociology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's School of Education. Dr Fischer will give two lectures:
1. Friday night at 19:30 (in English): Trends in Jewish identity and demographics in the US.
2. Shabbat afternoon following mincha (approx 16:30) (in Hebrew): Trends in Jewish identity and demographics in Israel.

בשבת פרשת ויגש (5 בטבת, 23 בדצמבר) אנו שמחים לארח את ד"ר שלמה פישר, עמית בכיר במכון למדיניות העם היהודי ומרצה לסוציולוגיה בבית הספר לחינוך של האוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים. ד"ר פישר יעביר שתי הרצאות:
1. ערב שבת בשעה 19:30 (באנגלית) מגמות בזהות ובדמוגרפיה היהודית בארה"ב
2. שבת אחר הצהריים אחרי מנחה בערך ב16:30 (בעברית) זהות היהודית ובדמוגרפיה בישראל. פרטים על לוח המודעות.
We are looking for youth who would like to read Megillah for the second reading on Purim night. Additionally, starting next week (Parashat VaYigash) there will be a chug meeting on Shabbat mornings after kiddush for youth interested in learning Kriat haMegillah. Those who are interested in reading and/or the chug should contact Moshe Appel.
