• Azakara marking the Shloshim for Chaya Tannor z'l. On Wednesday, May 24 (28 Iyar, Motzai Yom Yerushalayim) from 20:00-22:00 there will be an evening at Bermans to commemorate Chaya. The preliminary schedule is: 1. A shiur by Dr. Miriam Sklarz on אשת חיל (משלי ל"א) מאלף עד תיוx. 2. A siyum of Shisha Sidrei Mishnah by current and former members of the Tachkemoni Mishnah chug and their families. 3. Some words from family members. A more detailed schedule will follow. • אזכרה לציון השלושים לחיה טנור ז"ל. ביום רביעי בתאריך 24.5.17 (כ"ח אייר, מוצאי יום ירושלים) בין השעות 20:00-22:00 נקיים ערב לזכרה של חיה. בתוכנית: 1. שיעור מפי ד"ר מרים סקלרץ בנושא- אשת חיל (משלי ל"א)- מאלף עד תיו. 2. סיום של ששה סדרי משנה על ידי משתתפים מהעבר וההווה של חוג משנה בבית ספר תחכמוני, ומשפחותיהם. 3. מספר מילים מקרב המשפחה. תוכנית סופית תפורסם בהמשך. יהי זכרה ברוך.

SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS תזכורות, אירועים ופעילויות של בית הכנסת

• Haircuts prior to Lag Baomer (a Halachic note from R' Arye Frimer). This coming Sunday May 14, 2017 is Lag B'Omer. Since Lag B'Omer falls on Motsash/Sunday, the Rema (OH 493:2) allows Ashkenazim to take haircuts and shave on Friday in honor of Shabbat. [For Sefaradim this is permitted only on the 34th of the Omer (Monday).] The other restrictions of the Omer continue until Lag BaOmer.
• תספורות לקראת ל"ג בעומר (הודעה הלכתית של הרב אריה פרימר). ביום ראשון הקרוב, 14.5.2017, נחגוג את ל"ג בעומר. מאחר ול"ג בעומר מצוין במוצאי שבת/ראשון, הרמא (א"ח 493:2) מאפשר לאשכנזים להסתפר ולהתגלח ביום שישי, לכבוד השבת. [לספרדים קיים היתר זה ביום ה-34 לעומר (יום שני)]. מגבלות העומר האחרות ממשיכות להתקיים עד ל"ג בעומר.
• The second Kahn-Bellows lecture (on the topic of the Rabanut in modern times) will be given [in Hebrew] by Rabbi Elyashiv Knohel, Rav of Kfar Etzion and head of the Jewish Marriage Project at Tzohar. He will speak in Hebrew on the topic of “Divorce and marriage in modern day Israel from Tzohar’s viewpoint”. Monday May 22nd. Maariv at 20:00 lecture at 20:10

• Combined Adar/Nissan/Iyar and Sivan Jointly Sponsored Yahrtzeit Kiddush. The Adar/Nissan/Iyar and Sivan JSK will be held on June 3rd Parashat Naso. To participate in the kiddush, please contact Judd Bogdansky no later than Sunday May 28th. Participation: 150 NIS per person.
