- **This week!!** Scholar-in-Residence.
This Shabbat, Parshat Vayetze, we are pleased to have
as a scholar-in-residence Dr. Efraim Zuroff, Chief Nazi-hunter
of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and director of its Israel
Office and Eastern European Affairs. Dr. Zuroff will give two
lectures in English on: 1. My Life As a Nazi-Hunter:
Successes, Failures, and Insights (Friday night (Dec 9th) at
19:40), and 2. Holocaust Distortion in post-Communist Eastern
Europe: A New Threat to the Jewish Narrative of the Shoa, on
Shabbat (Dec 10th), following Mincha at about 16:30. All are
invited, details on the Noticeboard.

regular shabbat afternoon shiurim will not take place this
week.
- **This week!!** R'
Yehezkel Babkoff's Gemara shiur recently completed
Masechet Horayot, and has started Masechet Kiddushin. The
siyyum will take place immediately after Adon Olam (in place

by Mechael Kanovsky has finished Sefer Yirmiyahu
and will be starting Sefer Yishayahu next week (Parashat
Vayishlach). Yasher Koach to the teachers and all the
participants, with wishes for many more siyyums to come.
- The
2017 Annual General Membership meeting (AGM) will
be held on Saturday night, Jan. 28 at 20:00. We are
looking for new faces on the Board. Any member who
is interested in joining the Board, or anyone who can suggest
someone who may be interested and suitable is requested to
speak with a current Board member or with a member of the
Nominating Committee (Ian

- Please
remember that any payments or donations to the shul should
not include coins, only cheques or banknotes.
Handling coins costs us time (queued up waiting for a teller)
and money (higher charges for a teller transaction). Cheques
may be made payable to the "Berman Community Centre",
"מרכז קהילתי ברמן", or some variant thereof.
Putting in "synagogue", "בית כנסת", "Tiphereth Moshe", or
"תפארת משה" can lead to problems with the bank.
- Volunteers
needed to give Divrei Torah for parshiot in the
second half of Sefer Shmot (from Parashat Yitro). Please
contact Mechael Kanovsky.
- מי שמעוניין
לתת דבר תורה על פרשה בספר שמות (החל מפרשת יתרו)
מתבקש לפנות למיכאל קנובסקי.
