Volunteer opportunities:

  • Israel Postal Service volunteer program cancelled. Since the volunteer mail non-delivery program was launched, not a single participant application has reached the central post office. This led the postal service to conclude that they are doing such a good job of not delivering any mail, even to themselves, that they no longer require additional assistance from volunteers. Thank you anyway for demonstrating community spirit.

  • Have you run out of Zchuyois (a.k.a. Mitzva points) with more than 6 months to go until Yom Kippur? We have the perfect segula for you. The holy Bekinisher Rebbe from Hawaii said that Purim is compared to Yom Kippur. Come help set up the Beit Midrash for the parallel Megilla reading. Hundreds of people who hate Haman will be davening with extra kavanah for your salvation. Each muscle you strain or ankle you sprain hanging the mechitza (as long as you don’t yell S--- too loudly) will create 100 little angels who will be your personal Meletzei Yoisher for yeshuos, and besoiros toivos. The phone lines to redemption are open. Call now 1-700-777-7777.

Book ban:

  • !!!איסור חמור. It has come to our attention that the book on Woman in Halacha described in last month's Beneath the Basement is full of kefira, as it implies that man evolved from apes, and addresses women's issues in a balanced and respectful manner. Hence it has been banned. The membership are asked to delete any downloaded copies from their hard disks.

Personals:

  • Could you please add this to the Bulletin. It's an emergency!! I just accidentally dropped my phone under a 319 bus. The driver wouldn't let me retrieve it, because it was under the men's section. My boyfriend proposed last night, but I told him that I wasn't sure I wanted to marry him. I don't know what I was thinking. I was all mixed up. Could someone pleeease send him a WhatsApp and tell him that I'm soooo sorry, and of course I'll marry him. Thank you all so, so much... Bermans is such a great community...Hodesh Tov and Happy Purim to all..
