SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS:

• The 2015 AGM will take place on Motzai Shabbat, January 3, 2015 at 20:00. Please mark your calendars. The AGM will include elections for the board and audit committee. All members are invited to put their candidacy forward by contacting Ian Taylor. The AGM will also include a report by the Exploratory Committee for a new facility, followed by a vote on whether and how to proceed with the process. Members can access the report and the survey at these links (report survey). Any shul members who are having difficulty accessing the building report can send an email to bermanshul@gmail.com and we'll send the file as an attachment.

• The Kislev Yahrtzeit Jointly Sponsored Kiddush will be held on Shabbat, Parshat Vayeshev, Dec 13. If you would like to participate in this kiddush, please contact Rachel Schecter no later than Sunday, December 7th. Participation is 150 NIS per person.

• The community is invited to hear scholars in residence Rabbi Yitzchak and Geula Twersky on Shabbat Parashat Vayishlach (Dec. 5-6). Rav Yitzchak Twersky has been giving shiurim for decades to thousands of students, rebbeim, and teachers in many settings, including Yeshiva University, Princeton and Columbia. He is the author of scores of published articles in Gemara B’Iyun, Tanach, and machshavah (see www.realtorah.com). His sefer, Amittah shel Torah contains original insights into Tanach and chazal. Geula Twersky, a Torah educator for well over two decades and a professional artist (www.geulaart.com) teaches in a variety of Jerusalem seminaries.The Twerskys currently live with their family in Neve Daniel, in Gush Etzion. They will give three lectures on:
  1.Pachim Ketanim: Peshat, Derash and life's journey (Rabbi Twersky, in English). Fri night 8:00 PM

• Please send names (3 maximum) to gabbai@bermanshul.org (preferably by Thursday) or write them out and give to the Gabbaim before kriat hatora. Names must be resubmitted anew every week and will be read on the following Shabbat morning. This is intended for people with a acute health issues; if you would like a misheberach for somebody with a chronic illness, please recite the person's name by yourself during the prayer.
   
• If you are convalescing at home and would like visitors, please write in to bermanshul@gmail.com.
