Life cycle:
Births:
- Mazal Tov to Honey and Yehuda Berenson on the birth of a
great grandson, a son to Tsvia and Re’em Ben Artzi of
Kedumim. Mazal Tov as well to Tsvia’s parents, Ilana and
Michael Berenson.
Engagement and Weddings:
- Mazal Tov to Honey and Yehuda Berenson on the marriage of
their grandson, Chaim Berenson, son of Ilana and Michael
Berenson of Kedumim, to Ronit Adler, daughter of Vered and
Aryeh Adler of Dolev.
Bereavement and Memorial:
- The aliya lekever for our member Udi Gilai z'l will
take place on Monday Sept 29 (5 Tishrei) at 16:30 at the
Rehovot cemetery, followed by an Azkara at 17:30 (please
note change of time) at Bermans.
SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS:
Rosh Hashana:
- Don't forget to make an Eruv Tavshilin on Weds. erev
chag if you wish to prepare for shabbat on Friday.
- Maariv on Rosh Hashana will be held in the main shul on
Wednesday and Thursday evenings. There are no reserved seats.
The balcony will be used for men's seating. The downstairs
women's section will be open as usual for women.
- Hashkama minyan will begin at 6:30
in the YHD library.
- Please bring machzorim to all three minyanim, as the shul
has only a very limited number available.
- As always, those attending the Main and Hashkama minyanim
are asked to leave strollers outside the building. Strollers
may be brought into the Beit Midrash minyan, but must be kept
in the back of the room.
- Shofar will be blown outside the main shul (near the seminar
building) at exactly 12:00 noon for those who need to hear
shofar and cannot be inside. This is the only late shofar
blowing scheduled.
- Slichot on Saturday night Sept 27th and nightly at 22:30,
until Yom Kippur (Maariv at 22:20 Sunday - Thursday).
- Combined Kiddush will be held for all minyanim in the
pergola promptly after Main and BM minyamin finish.
- If you reserved seats and will not be using them for either
RH or YK, please send e-mail to Jerry Kriger so
that extra seats can be re-assigned.
- Setup for Bet Midrash and Hashkama minyanim for
Yom Kippur on Thursday Oct 2 at 8:00 PM. People
attending any of the three minyanim are invited to come help.
General:
- Lecture: Rabbi Avrum Kowalsky (Noted lecturer and
scholar. Frequent lecturer at the Jerusalem OU Center and
other forums) will speak in English on “YONAH - A deeper
look at the man and his struggle with G-D” Tuesday
evening, 6 Tishrei (Sept. 30th) Ma’ariv: 19:45; Lecture 20:00.

- טיול. מסתורי החורש וריחות תבלינים בהרי
מנשה. ביום חמישי, 30.10.2014 (אחרי החגים), נצא יחד
לטיול קסום בהרי מנשה בין עצי החורש, לאורך הנחל הזורם ומימיו
הצלולים. נבקר בחוות התבלינים ונקנח בביקור ביקב מורד שם
נטעם יין ושיכר בטעמים אקזוטיים וייחודיים המופקים מפירות, עשבי
תבלין ואפילו ירקות (!) התוכנית המלאה פה. 8:30 : יציאה מרח' הרב ברמן פינת
מלצר. בין 19:00 – 20:00: הגעה חזרה לרחובות.יש להצטייד באוכל
ושתיה לכל היום (ארוחת עשר, ארוחת צהרים ונשנושים).
עלות הטיול כולל כל האתרים – 55 ש"ח למשתתף!!!! ההדרכה
תהיה בעברית. ההרשמה והתשלום עד ה- 7.10.2014 אצל דוד דרורי, רח'

- Berman’s is going on another tiyyul – this time to
the Harei Menashe, where we will walk among the trees and
along the streams. We will visit an Herbs and Spices Farm and
a winery where Mead is produced from fruits and vegetables.
When: Thursday, October 30, 2014, leaving at 8:30 from the
corner of Meltzer and Harav Berman Streets. Returning: around
19:00-20:00. Total cost: only 55 NIS per person,
including entrance fees, tour guide, bus, etc. Please
bring your own food for the entire day. Guidance will be
in Hebrew! Registration and payment no later than October 7,

- The jointly sponsored Tishrei Yahrtzeit Kiddush will be
