• Mazal Tov to Rivka & Steve Kronengold on the birth of a granddaughter, Moriah, daughter (after three boys) to parents Renana and Shalom Kronengold.

Weddings and Anniversaries:

• A special Mazal Tov to Renee and Sidney Grunebaum on their golden wedding anniversary.  We wish them many more happy and healthy years together, ad meah ve'esrim!!!
  

Bereavement and Memorial:

• The Azkara for Ellen Hexter's z"l  third Yahrzeit will take place on Tuesday, August 19 (23 Menachem Av) at 18:30 at the Rehovot cemetery. The Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Lau shlita, will give a shiur in Ellen's memory at 19:30 at Bermans.

• The Education Committee would like to thank Dr. Josh Klein, Rabbi Prof. Aryeh Frimer, Rav Moti Goldreich and Adv. Israel Azrieli for enriching the community with their recent lectures/shiurim. Thirsty trees remain available for viewing on Hagra St. :-)
  

• The Av-Elul Yahrzeit Jointly Sponsored Kiddush will be held on Shabbat, Parshat Shoftim, August 30.  If you would like to participate in sponsoring this kiddush, please contact Rachel Schecter (rachelschecter.bermanshul@gmail.com) no later than Monday, August 18. Cost is 150 NIS per sponsor.
  

• Woman's Section- wheelchair access. In our continued efforts to make our shul accessible to everyone, space for a wheelchair has been created in the downstairs woman's section (immediately to the right of the door) by shortening the corresponding bench. Our thanks to the house committee for implementing this improvement.

Please return forms and payment by August 31st before the price goes up!

HOSPITALITY - הכנסת אורחים The community wishes to know about new arrivals or people planning to come to Rehovot so that we can welcome them. You may send in their details for the weekly bulletin, to hospitality@bermanshul.org or to Chaya Tannor. As we learn from Avraham Avenu, please open your homes to our guests and newest arrivals. MISHEBEIRACH LECHOLIM + BIKKUR CHOLIM - מישברך לחולים וביקור חולים  

• Please send names (3 maximum) to gabbai@bermanshul.org (preferably by Thursday) or write them out and give to the Gabbaim before kriat hatora. Names must be resubmitted anew every week and will be read on the following Shabbat morning. This is intended for people with a acute health issues; if you would like a misheberach for somebody with a chronic illness, please recite the person's name by yourself during the prayer.
   
• If you are convalescing at home and would like visitors, please write in to bermanshul@gmail.com.

• Produce from communities surrounding Gaza. The best way of giving is to enable someone to make a living. "Meshek Havivian" sells fresh, delicious, organic fruits and vegetables and also locally produced eggs, cheese, flour etc. delivered to your door. • By popular demand, Emunah Yehudit Chapter is holding another of our famous English Paperback Book Sales. The sale will take place NEXT Friday, 15th August, in the parking lot of David Shimoni 8, from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. by permission of Lily Stern. Bring your second-hand English paperback books in good condition, and buy yourself a whole bundle of summer reading. Each book is still only NIS 5.  The famous Emunah calendar will also be on sale for NIS 30, as will Rosh Hashanah cards and a variety of other greeting cards. Emunah has many additional expenses as a result of the military actions in the South, making it essential to raise as much money as quickly as possible to send to our many facilities in this area.
