Bereavement and Memorial Events:

• We deeply regret to announce the tragic death of Sergeant Oren Noach z"l, son of Chaya and Yigal Noach, and grandson of our former founding members Hedy and Alan Mandel of Karnei Shomron. Oren was killed on the first day of the war in the troop carrier with the six other Golani soldiers. Alan's number is 054-7743245 and Chaya's is 050-5942919. • We regret to announce the passing of Haim Koifman z"l, the father of our member Liat Kalman. Liat will be sitting shiva with her family at Rehov Carmel 31/5 until Monday morning, July 28. As last year, the printed documents will not be mailed out, and you are requested to please print your own copy.

  Instructions:
  Not all browsers will allow you to print the PDF document directly, so you may have to first download it and then use a PDF program (e.g. Adobe Reader) to open and print it.

• What to do if the siren sounds while you are in shul. The “safe” areas have been designated as follows:
  

1. Rear part of the main shul and library (away from the windows).
2. Upstairs corridor behind the gallery

If the siren sounds, you should go to the closest of these areas quickly but calmly.  The designated areas have been chosen because they have few outside walls and windows, are protected by the floors above, and are easily accessible. (The shelter behind the shul is too inaccessible to reach in time.)
Rav Arye adds: If a siren is sounded while one is in the middle of the shmoneh esrei, one should walk quickly to the protected area without talking (unless absolutely necessary) and continue shemoneh esrei.  This is true for the individual and the Hazan.

HOSPITALITY - הכנסת אורחים The community wishes to know about new arrivals or people planning to come to Rehovot so that we can welcome them. You may send in their details for the weekly bulletin, to hospitality@bermanshul.org or to Chaya Tannor. As we learn from Avraham Avenu, please open your homes to our guests and newest arrivals. MISHEBEIRACH LECHOLIM + BIKKUR CHOLIM - מישברך לחולים וביקור חולים  

• Please send names  (3 maximum) to gabbai@bermanshul.org, (preferably by Thursday) or write them out and give to the Gabbaim before kriat hatora. Names must be resubmitted anew every week and will be read on the following Shabbat morning. This is intended for people with a acute health issues; if you would like a misheberach for somebody with a chronic illness, please recite the person's name by yourself during the prayer.
