Life cycle:
Births:

of a granddaughter, a baby girl to their children Chaya and
Moshe Malik of Beit El.
Bereavement and Memorial Events:
- There will be an azkara for Rav Gershon Shain ז"ל on Thursday July 24
(26th of Tammuz, 5774) at 6:00 p.m. at the Rehovot cemetery.
- The azkara for our dear member Joanne Bodner ז"ל will take
place Wednesday 23rd of July (25th of Tammuz, 5774) at the
Rehovot cemetery at 17:30. It will be followed by Mincha at
Chatam at 18:15 and then a shiur for men and women by Rav
Yehoshua Hacarmi 18:30-19:15.
SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS:
- Volunteers needed. The board is looking for
volunteers for the Outreach Committee (including a new
chairperson). This is a special opportunity to fulfill the
words of our sages:
הוו מתלמידיו של אהרון: אוהב שלום ורודף שלום אוהב את הבריאות
ומקרבן לתורה
Please contact David Tannor david.tannor@weizmann.ac.il
- Yemei Iyun Betanach- transportation. The
Education Committee would like to facilitate transportation
to the Yemei Iyun Betanach in Alon Shvut on the week of July
27th. There is still a possibility of a bus, if enough
people are planning to attend on the same day. If you
are interested in transportation, you must sign up as soon
as possible. Please register your interest here.
- And more from the Education Committee: We are currently looking
for members who are interested in giving divrei torah
for the parshiyot in Bereishit and Shmot. If you have a simcha
during this time and would like to reserve a specific date or
have a favorite dvar torah on a specific parsha and would like
to share it with all of us, please send us your request at kanovsky@gmail.com. We
are an equal opportunity shul, so people of any gender and
(almost) any age are encouraged to apply. Please call us so we
won't have to call you.
- What to do if the siren sounds
while you are in shul. The “safe” areas have been
designated as follows:
- Rear part of the main shul and
library (away from the windows).
- Upstairs corridor behind the gallery
If the siren sounds, you should
go to the closest of these areas quickly but calmly. The
designated areas have been chosen because they have few
outside walls and windows, are protected by the floors above,
and are easily accessible. (The shelter behind the shul is too
inaccessible to reach in time.)
Rav Arye adds: If a siren is
sounded while one is in the middle of the shmoneh esrei, one
should walk quickly to the protected area without talking
(unless absolutely necessary) and continue shemoneh
esrei. This is true for the individual and the Hazan.
