SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS:
- Volunteers needed. The board is looking for several
non-board member volunteers for the Outreach Committee
(including a new chairperson) and the Library Committee.
Please contact David Tannor david.tannor@weizmann.ac.il
- The next board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday,
July 16 at 20:00. The preliminary agenda appears on the
calendar.
- The Education Committee is seeking the help of the
community in
finding quality speakers (both for lectures and for scholars
in residence) for our shul's benefit. We are looking for
lectures in any topic that deals with Judaism in the
broadest sense. If you know anyone personally or from
experience, we would love to hear from you. Please contact
Mechael Kanovsky at kanovsky@gmail.com.
- Yemei Iyun Betanach- transportation. The
Education Committee would like to facilitate transportation
to the Yemei Iyun Betanach in Alon Shvut on the week of July
27th. There is still a possibility of a bus, if enough
people are interested in going on the same day. Please
register your interest here.
- What to do if the siren sounds
while you are in shul. The “safe” areas have been
designated as follows:
- Rear part of the main shul and
library (away from the windows).
- Upstairs corridor behind the gallery
If the siren sounds, you should
go to the closest of these areas quickly but calmly. The
designated areas have been chosen because they have few
outside walls and windows, are protected by the floors above,
and are easily accessible. (The shelter behind the shul is too
inaccessible to reach in time.)
