Dear Members,

Pesach is approaching and for many people the financial strain it entails overshadows the joy of the holiday. Last year, the Moat Hittim appeal raised a record 85 000 ILS. Of this sum, 80% was distributed directly through our Berman’s contacts and social workers to 255 needy families, either in the form of food parcels or stipends. The remaining 20% was given to local welfare charities for distribution. Through your kindness, we were able to provide over 300 families with the basic requirements for the chag. We would like to be able to repeat this once again, this year.

So that those organizing food packages can prepare in sufficient time, donations need to reach them early. Please help us by submitting your Maot Hittim contributions as soon as possible, and not leaving it until the week before chag, when it is difficult to organize distribution.

Thanking you as always for your kindheartedness, we take this opportunity to wish all our members a chag kasher v’sameach.

• All varieties of body soaps, shampoos and stick deodorants are permitted for use on Pesach regardless of their ingredients.
• All types of ointments, creams, nail polish, hand lotions, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, blush, foot and face powders, and ink and paint may be used regardless of their ingredients.
