• This week's kiddush is the first Jointly-Sponsored Yahrtzeit Kiddush being given by a group of Berman members in memory of their loved ones who have yahrtzeits in the month of Tevet. The sponsors are Jerry Kriger, Rachel Schecter, Hershell Goldman, Harry Langbeheim, Yekutiel Mansdorf, Lynne Uram, Jonathan Nehrer, Norma Rosenfeld, Ian Taylor, Jenny & Yechezkiel Kartin, Henry Schwarzbaum, Bob Naimark, and their respective families.
   
• Mazal tov to Suzanne & Bob Naimark on the birth of a new granddaughter, born to Ari & Achit Naimark of Mitzpe Eilan.

• Mazal tov to Cissie & Eddie Jacobson on the engagement of grandson Nadav Golan to Yehudit Greenbaum of Yerushalayim, and to the happy parents Yehudit & Rafi Golan of Ramot Yerushalayim.

• Mazal tov to Eti & Nisan Uzana on the birth of twin daughters this week. Mazal tov to the proud grandparents Paula & Sandy Colb and Aviva & David Uzana. Mazal tov to the proud great-grandfather Frank Colb.
   
• A Special General Meeting for all Bermans members has been called for Sunday, 16th December 2012 at 20:00 in the shul. The items on the agenda are as follows:
  1. Approval  the appointment of Mr. Haim Dorsman as accountant in place of the current accountant Mr. Avi Turgeman.
  2. Approval of the 2011 financial reports to the Rasham Amutot. Members may access the documents for this meeting from the "Members Only" section of the website (member login required) - the web page gives the access credentials. • The next Board meeting will be on Sunday, 16th December, immediately after the SGM. 8th November) at 20:15 in the shul library.  Draft minutes of the previous meeting are at http://bermanshul.org/content/view/186/58/. Members with questions or issues to raise should contact any Board member.
   
• On Shabbat Parshat Yayigash (9th Tevet, 21-22 December) we are pleased to have as ascholar in residence Rabbi Menachem Leibtag, internationally acclaimed Bible scholar and pioneer of Jewish Education on the Internet (see his site: www.tanach.org).
  He will give two lectures in English:
  1. Re-Examining the Siddur, in Light of the Book of Genesis - Shabbat evening at 20:15
  2. How Yosef's Dream Explains Yaakov's Blessings -  Shabbat afternoon following Mincha at 16:00

  1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.

• Much Ado About February. The TNT Theatre Britain, a professional Shakespeare troupe, is coming to the Moffett Theatre in Rehovot on 14th February, 2013 with an energetic production of MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. Further details are on the calendar.
