• Mazal tov to Bryna and Paul Epstein on the birth of a grandson, son to Ayelet and Ayton Lefkowitz.
   
• After the Yamim Noraim
  • Thank you to all those who helped provide meaningful davening over the Yamim Noraim: those who led the services (davening, leining, and shofar blowing), gabbaim, Seating Committees, House Committees, and all those who helped set up and take apart the sanctuaries used for davening.
  • The Bet Midrash Minyan will have a post-chag review and planning meeting at the Safers', Gorodeski 20/11, on Monday, October 15, at 20:00. The purpose of the meeting is to highlight what worked well and note what needs to be improved, as an aid to next year's plans. All minyan participants who would like to be more active next year are invited to participate. Suggestions for topics to discuss can be sent to Hershel Safer (hsafer@alum.mit.edu) up to 24 hours before the meeting.

• Membership renewal. All members who have not yet renewed their membership are requested to do so now. The combined membership and seat-order form is on the shul website as a single  PDF document, which also includes a second form for you to use to provide personal information for our database (PDF link here). Both forms are also available as Excel documents (seatingform.xls and personal-info-form.xls).
  Please note: Receipts for postdated checks will be issued when the checks are deposited.
• BermaNoar - ברמנוער
  זה מתחיל! פעילות ראשונה של ברמנוער - רק אם יש מספיק נרשמים! יום שלישי ה 9/10 ב 13:30 נפגש לקטיף עם “לקט ישראל” ( התוצרת שנקטוף נשלח לנזקקים) אח”כ כמסורת של ברמנוער – נמשיך לאוכל!!! כדי שנוכל להיערך לכל הפעילויות של ברמנוער יש לשלוח בקשה לאילנה ולרשום בו את הפרטים הבאים: שם, כיתה, אימייל וטלפון. מעבר לכך אתם מתבקשים לרשום האם אתם מעוניינים לקבל מידי פעם הצעות עבודה או התנדבות לפעילויות שונות בבית הכנסת, שמכם יכנס למאגר ויישלחו לכם הצעות בהתאם.
  חשוב! פתיחת שנת הפעילות של ברמנוער יחל רק לאחר שיירשמו מינימום 30 נערים/ות – מהרו להירשם! (ראו כתובת אימייל למטה)
  BermaNoar is on the move! First activity (only if enough people register) will be on Isru Chag 9.10.12 - we will meet at 13:30 & go produce-picking with Leket Yisrael (who will send all the produce you pick to the needy) & right afterwards, as usual – Food!!! In order for us to begin the Bermanoar activites you must sign up with Ilana.Please send the following information: name, grade, email & phone numbers. Please also write whether you want to be put on the list of volunteers or workers for various Berman activities.
  Important: we need at least 30 registrations before we can start any activities!

SHANA TOVA! Our community is so lucky that we get to start the new year with the wonderful mitzvah of Hachnasat Orchim (הכנסת אורחים)! As we learn from Avraham Avenu, please open your homes (or tents on Succot :) ) to our newest arrivals and share the excitement of the Chagim with them. גדולה הכנסת אורחים יותר מקבלת פני השכינה, שבת קכ"ז

• List of new arrivals:
  This year Berman’s has had a large influx of new families joining the community. Berman members have opened their homes and arms to them with great warmth. We would like to continue that wonderful Berman’s hospitality and invite them to our Shabbat and Chag meals. Please follow this link which will take you to the current list of all the new families and their contact information.
   

• Please send in names (3 maximum) to gabbai@bermanshul.org, (preferably by Thursday) or write them out and to give to the Gabbaim before kria. Names must be resubmitted anew every week. 
   
• If you are convalescing at home and would like visitors, please write in to bermanshul@gmail.com.

• Chugim and activities for all ages at Havayot Schweitz: Including 50+ coffee evenings, מועדון חצ"ב, Bridge for beginners, Tiyulim, etc.. For details and schedules see the Havayot Website (http://havayot.org.il).
• Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
  1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
  2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.
