  • Mazal tov to Tomer Dudovich on the occasion of his bar-mitzvah. Mazal tov to parents Nirit and Boaz Dudovich, to grandparents Arnold, Esther and Yitzhak, and to the extended Dudovich and Pernick families. Kiddush this Shabbat is donated by the Dudovich family in honor of Tomer's bar-mitzvah.

  • Mazal tov to grandparents Shelley & Henry Schwarzbaum, greatgrandparents Flo & Sylvain Sternberg and to new parents Batya & Ariel Mayerfeld, on the birth of a baby girl, Talya.
     
  • The yahrzeit ceremony for Joanne Bodner, A"H, will be held at the Rehovot cemetery on Sunday July 15, 25 of Tammuz, at 18:00.
     
  • There will be an evening of Sheloshim for Julie Spetner A”H on Sunday 15 July at 20:15 at Bet Keneset Bet Azriel, 22 Shaulson, Har Nof, Jerusalem. Tefilat Maariv will be at 20:15.
    אי"ה יתקיים ערב לשלושים מפטירת יהודית ספטנר בת הרב אברהם שלמה זכרונה לברכה ביום א' אור ל-כ"ו תמוז (15/7/12) בירושלים בבית כנסת בית עזריאל רחוב שאולזון 22. נתחיל עם תפילת מעריב בשעה 20:15.
     

  • On Thursday evening, Rosh Chodesh Av (July 19th), Rabbi Shmuel Silber will give a shiur on the topic: "Humility, Hatred & Harmony: Struggling To Understand The Churban." Rabbi Silber is the Rav of the Suburban Orthodox Toras Chaim Synagogue in Baltimore, Maryland, and an adjunct professor in the Johns Hopkins University School of Education. Maariv at 8:15 p.m. Lecture at 8:30 p.m., followed by refreshments.
     
  • Berman Shul kiddush organizer: We are looking for a new organizer for the Berman Shul kiddushim.
    The candidate must be:
    •  available every Shabbat to organize the kiddush (with the help of a small staff of teenagers)
    •  able to shop for vegetables and cookies, etc on Fridays (have a license and use of a car)
    •  responsible for ordering kugels etc. when they are requested by the sponsors and set the plata Shabbat as necessary.
    The job is suitable for an adult, pensioner, 12th grader or a college student who lives in Rehovot. The organizer gets paid monthly, for the work he does on Fridays.The candidate must also know how to use Excel and keep records of expenses, etc. This position is available immediately.   • Shiva Minyan committee:
    The mourning period is a sensitive and difficult period. A new Berman committee has formed which will relieve the family from the concerns of organizing the minyanim and layning for the shiva house. A link to an online signup table open to all without member login will be included together with the email shiva announcement, for shaharit, minha, and arvit minyanim for the whole shiva week . In the event that for the respective minyanim adequate numbers are not obtained in this way, the committee will phone to enlist volunteers. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.
