  • As notified in e-mail earlier in the week, the April Board meeting is rescheduled for Thursday 19th April - 20:00. The draft meeting agenda is here (member login required).
     
  • The Kahn-Bellows Lecture Series this year will be devoted to the topic of Jewish Mysticism. This Monday evening 23rd April, the first lecture in this series will be given by Uri Kaploun, author and teacher, on "The Tanya: Tools for Today." The lecture/shiur will consist of a hands-on analysis of sample passages from this magnum opus of Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, who founded Chabad in the late 18th Century. Further details are on the calendar.
    Maariv at 8:15 p.m., followed by the lecture at 8:30 p.m.
     
  • Erev Yom haAtzmaut (25th April) at Bermans: BOOK YOUR DINNER NOW AT A DISCOUNT PRICE!
    • 19:45 - Festive tefilla.
    • Lecture by Moshe Givati, an excellent military history lecturer, on the battle of the Hermon (in which he participated). Details on the speaker (in Hebrew) can be found at http://simania.co.il/authorDetails.php?itemId=9756
    • A children's activity is being planned, but we would be happy with more volunteers! Please call Chaya Tannor.
    • During the evening we will pay tribute to our young members serving in צה"ל and שרות לאומי.
      PARENTS: Please update the list at http://tinyurl.com/y8ml8ut to add the names of new inductees and to remove the names of those who have completed their service. New chayalim and bnot/bnei sherut will get a token gift from Riccochet; please send their names by e-mail to ctannor@hotmail.com;
    • Dinner, dairy: Salmon , pastas, salads, Ben and Jerry's for dessert; Discount prices - 50 shekels per person, 200 maximum per family (15 shekels for pizza only, 2 slices, no pasta or salmon). Soldiers and Bnei sherut are free (but you still must reserve the dinner for them). Please send your dinner reservations to Sara Feigelson, Sara.Feigelson@weizmann.ac.il
      After Friday 20th April prices go up to 60 shekels per person, 240 per family, so please book on time

The community wishes to know about new arrivals or people planning to come to Rehovot so that we can welcome them. You may send in their details for the weekly bulletin, to hospitality@bermanshul.org or to Chaya Tannor.

  • Please send in names (3 maximum) to gabbai@bermanshul.org, (preferably by Thursday) or write them out and to give to the Gabbaim before kria. Names must be resubmitted anew every week. 
     
  • If you are convalescing at home and would like visitors, please write in to bermanshul@gmail.com

  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.
