ANNOUNCEMENTS  
  • Mazal Tov to Greta and Moishe Rosenberg on the Bat-Mitzvah of their granddaughter Noa. Mazal Tov to the parents, Tammy and Yehuda Levene from Moshav Bet Gamliel.
     
  • Mazal tov to Joyce & Aryeh Fried upon the engagement of their son Chaim to Liat Kahana from Jerusalem.
     
  • Events in memory of Rachel and Lenny Garfinkel ז"ל
    1. The azkarah marking Rachel Garfinkel's z"l 15th yahrzeit and Lenny Garfinkel's z"l 7th yahrzeit will take place at the Rehovot cemetery, IY"H, on Friday, 3 February 2012 (10 Shevat 5772) at 10 a.m.
      The family - both here and abroad - very much appreciates the continued loyalty to Rachel's and Lenny's memories over all the years.
    2. The annual Kabbalat Shabbat for women in Rachel Garfinkel's z"l memory will be held that same Friday evening, IY"H, 3 February 2012 (10>11 Shevat 5772 - Parashat BeShalach) - at the Kanners - 41 HaShomrim - at 17:10.
      (As some have done in the past, if you would like to light candles at home and be driven over earlier, please feel free to do so.)

  • Motsei Shabbat February 4 at 20:00 we will show the Filmfestival winner "Hacholmot" (The Dreamers). Following the movie, there will be a talk by the director/producer, The film is in Hebrew with English subtitles. The producer will speak in easy Hebrew but can understand questions in English or Hebrew. Movie will be in the Moreshet Yaakov Seminary Building on the second floor.

  • Wednesday night February 15, at 8 p.m. "Three Women and a Talmud: Maggie Anton talks about the research behind her best-selling Rashi's Daughters historical novels." Talk will be in English
     
HOSPITALITY, COMINGS & GOINGS - הכנסת אורחים
The community wishes to know about new arrivals or people planning to come to Rehovot so that we can welcome them. You may send in their details for the weekly bulletin, to hospitality@bermanshul.org or to Chaya Tannor.
  • Looking for 2 families to host people going through conversion :
    1. A mother & 2 daughters one in ninth grade the other in seventh grade living in Rehovot (meals only).
    2. Two soldier girls includes sleeping over.

  • On Shabbat Parashat Mishpatim (17-18/2/12) we will be hosting a group of converts (or in the last stages of conversion). We are looking for families to host them for Shabbat.   • Please send in names (3 maximum) to gabbai@bermanshul.org, (preferably by Thursday) or write them out and to give to the Gabbaim before kria. Names must be resubmitted anew every week.

  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.
