ANNOUNCEMENTS  
  • Unfortunately we do NOT have enough participation for bowling this Thursday night (15th Dec) so it will NOT be taking place.

  • The extended Frimer Family will be holding an Azkara in memory of our beloved husband, father, son and grandson Yaakov Yehudah Frimer ז"ל  a week from this Friday, December 16th (20 Kislev 5772) at 9:30 AM at Eretz haHayyim Cemetery, Tzomet Shimshon [near Bet Shemesh].
      
  • Eli Seeman will be starting a chug for boys who are interested in learning to read Megillat Esther. The chug will meet weekly on Shabbat from 11-11:30am on the grounds of Yeshivat Hadarom, starting this coming Shabbat.
     
  • A Special General Meeting for all Bermans members has been called for Motzei Shabbat, 17th December 2011 at 20:00 in the shul. The meeting resolutions are here (available only to shul members, who must first log into the shul website). 
    Non-members who wish to attend should ask permission from the shul president (president@bermanshul.org).
    The issues to be discussed are:
    1. Refurbishment of the room under the Yeshiva dining room, as a function room dedicated in memory of Nachum Ben Tzvi
    2. Proposal to explore the building of a new multifunctional community building. An on-line forum has been set up to discuss this topic (http://forum.bermanshul.org). Anybody with points to raise may use this forum or approach the shul president.
    3. Approval of financial reports to the Rasham Amutot.
     
  • The draft minutes of the Board meeting held on Tuesday 6th December are here (website login required). Minutes of other board meetings since the last AGM have now been ratified (listed here). Members with questions or issues to raise should approach any Board member.
     
  • BermaNoar: There are two upcoming events – please sign up immediately!!!
    1. Bermanoar Shabbaton on Parshat Vayechi (January 7th). All those interested from 7th grade and up, please send an email ASAP to Ilana Friedlander at: stevenf@netvision.net.il  or call:057-5706592. More details will follow.
    2. On the second day of Chanukah (22/12/11) we will be having a laser gun "battle" and cookout in the Ben-Shemen forest. We will be leaving at 1:30 PM (the bus will leave from Meltzer Street near Ohel Shai) and we will return by 19:15. ALL KIDS (from 7th grade and up) MUST REGISTER ASAP (if we do not have a minimum amount of kids we will not go!) by sending an email to Ilana Friedlander at stevenf@netvision.net.il. The cost is 40 shekels per kid. For further details please call Ilana at 057-570-6592.

    We are planning on having activities for Bermanoar throughout the year and for years to come. In order to have a better assess how many children are in the different age groups, we would like to ask the Berman member families to supply us with the following information about your school age children(first grade to 12th grade): names, gender, age, email and/or Facebook and cell phone numbers (if they have them).   • Please send in names (3 maximum) to gabbai@bermanshul.org, (preferably by Thursday) or write them out and to give to the Gabbaim before kria. Names must be resubmitted anew every week.

  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.

  • Now that Hanukkah is here, it’s time to start thinking about Purim and AMIT Chug Rehovot has begun preparing its annual Mishloach Manot Project.
