ANNOUNCEMENTS  
  • Kiddush this week is sponsored by Rhea and Larry Israel in celebration of the bar-mitzvah of their grandson Ron, son of David and Tal. Mazal tov to the entire family.
     
  • Mazal Tov to Mark and Ruth Lavie on the engagement of his daughter, Tami, to Moshe Nissim of Jerusalem.
      
  • A Special General Meeting for all Bermans members has been called for Motzei Shabbat, 17th December 2011 at 20:00 in the shul. The issues to be discussed are:
    1. Refurbishment of the room under the Yeshiva dining room, as a function room dedicated in memory of Nachum Ben Tzvi
    2. Proposal to build a new shul building
    3. Approval of financial reports to the Rasham Amutot.

  • The next meeting of the Board is on Tuesday 6th December at 20:30. The provisional agenda is here (website login required). Members with questions or issues to raise should approach any Board member.
     
  • Women or girls who are interested in reading from Megillat Esther on Purim morning at the women's reading should contact Sheila Fieldust at 08-9491091 or 052-5310922.
      
  • We are looking for volunteers to help plan a pre-Chaunkah social evening (for adults). Please contact Aviva Spotts to volunteer - avivaspotts@gmail.com, 08-945-1363.
     
  • BermaNoar: There are two upcoming events – please sign up immediately!!!
    1. Bermanoar Shabbaton on Parshat Vayechi (January 7th). All those interested from 7th grade and up, please send an email ASAP to Ilana Friedlander at: stevenf@netvision.net.il  or call:057-5706592. More details will follow.
    2. On the second night of Chanukah (22/12/11) there will be an activity for both the older Bermanoar youth(10-12 grade) and the younger (7-9th grade) Bermanoar youth. Please sign up by emailing Ilana Friedlander.
    We are planning on having activities for Bermanoar throughout the year and for years to come. In order to have a better assess how many children are in the different age groups, we would like to ask the Berman member families to supply us with the following information about your school age children(first grade to 12th grade): names, gender, age, email and/or Facebook and cell phone numbers (if they have them). The community wishes to know about new arrivals or people planning to come to Rehovot so that we can welcome them. You may send in their details for the weekly bulletin, to hospitality@bermanshul.org or to Chaya Tannor.
 
MISHEBEIRACH LECHOLIM + BIKKUR CHOLIM - מישברך לחולים וביקור חולים  
  • Please send in names (3 maximum) to gabbai@bermanshul.org, (preferably by Thursday) or write them out and to give to the Gabbaim before kria. Names must be resubmitted anew every week. 
     
  • If you are convalescing at home and would like visitors, please write in to bermanshul@gmail.com

  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.

  • Due to an over-abundance of hamsters, we would be happy to give away for free Siberian hamsters. They are cute, playful and they are easy maintenance. They are very kid friendly, they do not bite or scratch. The offer includes only the hamsters. All other accessories (cage, food etc.) are not included.
