engagement of their daughter Sharon to David Alpher, son
of Barbara & Barry Alpher from Virginia, USA.
- Mazal tov to Susie & David Dym on the birth of
their first grandson, son of Efrat & Nadav Dym.
Mazal Tov also to Irene & Harry Dym and to Ruth
Segel on the birth of their first great-grandchild, to
Gilad, Calanit, Shuli, Talia & Hagai Dym on becoming
uncles and aunts and to all the rest of the Dym, Segel
and Lasser clans. The Brit is expected to be on this

- Mazal tov to Melodie & Sherman Rosenfeld, who are
proud grandparents of a new granddaughter, born this
week to their son and daughter-in-law, Eli & Galit
Rosenfeld of Gadera. Mazal tov to Galit's parents, Dina
and Uri Weiss, and to the both Eli and Galit's extended
families.
- Mazal Tov to Avigail & Yigael Berger on the birth
of their son. Mazal Tov also to grandparents Rachel
& Motti Berger, Carole & Simon Godfrey.
- A lecture in memory of Zeev Olami ז"ל will be
given this shabbat (Parshat Chayei Sarah,
19.11.11), after services at 11:00 a.m. in the
Berman Synagogue. Rabbi Dr. Daniel Tropper, founder and
president emeritus of Gesher, will speak (in Hebrew) on
the topic: הספר הידוע במצרים.
The lecture will explore the possibility that Rambam
used the Aleppo Codex when he wrote his own copy of the
Torah.
- MOVIE - this Motzei Shabbat (19th November). Last
minute important change in movie (for YOUR INFO and
interest!...due to nudity in the movie Romeo and
Juliet in Yiddish which was supposed to be "G"
rated!) we will instead be screening the movie "Beruria"
in Hebrew with English subtitles - further details
are on the calendar. Afterwards, Ilana Friedlander will
lead a discussion of the movie
- The draft minutes of the Board meeting held on 1st

(member login required). Members with questions/comments
should approach any Board member. Please note that the board has reopened the
discussion on the proposal to build a new shul. A
discussion document on the subject is attached to the
minutes.

- Recently [maybe Nov 4 in the morning] a number of us
went to a lecture on Brain Activity at the Weizmann
Institute. I borrowed the entrance fee from someone and
to my shame, don't remember the kind lender. If someone
remembers that I borrowed the money and from whom, I

- I am an experienced chemical R&D expert, with an
M.S. in Pharmaceutical Industries, and with proven
expertise in R&D, formulations, project management,
metal finishing, electrochemistry, chemical analysis,
alternate materials and related fields. I published
