ANNOUNCEMENTS  
  • Mazal tov to Hagit & Yoni Colb on the birth of a son. Mazal tov to the grandparents, Paula & Sandy Colb and to greatgrandpa Frank Colb.
      
  • Mazel Tov to Naomi & Murray Borsekofsky on the birth of a great grandson. Mazal tov to the parents, Ayelet & Shmuel Elyashiv, and to the grandparents Simcha & Yerachmiel Elyashiv of Karnai Shomron.
     
  • On Shabbat Lech Lecha (November 4-5), Rabbi Dr. Yosef Leibowitz will be our Scholar-in-Residence.
    • On Friday night, starting at 8:15 p.m., he will speak on "The Image of G-d in the Human Being: An Analysis of Genesis 1:26."
    • On Saturday afternoon, between mincha and ma'ariv, he will speak on "The Siddur as Midrash: 'Whenever the Ark set out, Moses would say' (ויהי בנסע הארן ויאמר משה)."
    Rabbi Leibowitz is the Director of the Yad Yaacov Fund for Jewish Education.
     
  • The azkara for Chana Lesser ז"ל on her sixth yaarziet will take place on Friday 11th November (י"ד חשוון). Family and friends will meet at the entrance to the Rehovot cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
     
  • The draft minutes of the  Board meeting held on 1st November are posted at http://bermanshul.org/content/view/157/58// (member login required). Members with questions/comments should approach any Board member.
LOST & FOUND
  • Found last shabbat or yom tov, turquoise beaded earring on path to shul. Please contact Andy or Laurie, 08-648-4814, andrewjwarren@yahoo.com

HOSPITALITY, COMINGS & GOINGS - הכנסת אורחים
The community wishes to know about new arrivals or people planning to come to Rehovot so that we can welcome them. You may send in their details for the weekly bulletin, to hospitality@bermanshul.org

  • Please send in names (3 maximum) to gabbai@bermanshul.org, (preferably by Thursday) or write them out and to give to the Gabbaim before kria. Names must be resubmitted anew every week.

  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.

  • The organization, PUSH, is looking for volunteers. PUSH tries to help disadvantaged kids work on reading skills , English etc. The children who are in the program all WANT to improve...so it is a motivated group. You determine which hours you want to volunteer (morning, evening...etc.) Perfect for volunteers of all ages! If you are interested, call Moshe Brot 0544610793
