ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Mazal Tov to Molly & Heshi Bodner and to Audrey & Fred Samuels on their new grandaughter. Mazal tov to the parents, Batsheva and Mati Goldstein and to the entire Samuel, Goldstein, Siegal and Bodner families.
     
  • Tisha b'Av
    • Fast begins at 19:30 Monday and ends at 19:58 on Tuesday. Times for tefila and megila are on the pdf calendar
    • As in previous years, Kinnot at Berman Tisha beAv will be accompanied by introductions and explanations by R. Aryeh Frimer. Tisha beAv night the explanations will be in Hebrew; but in the morning they will be in English. (Only about a third of the Kinnot will be recited in the morning.)
    • Motti Goldreich will be teaching about the "agadot churban" after shacharit davening on Tisha Be'av day (in Hebrew).
    • On Tisha Ba'av afternoon at 16:30 (before mincha) there will be a screening in shul of the documentary We Were Exodus (2007) - run time 80 minutes - review at http://www.culturevulture.net/Movies/we were exodus_8-08.htm  . The movie is a mixture of interviews in English, Hebrew and French, with subtitles in Hebrew. It will be followed by a discussion with Yossi Bayor, who was on the boat. Yossi speaks in Hebrew but will answer questions posed in English too.
      
  • High Holidays 5772  ימים נוראים תשע"ב    
    The time has come to renew annual membership and arrange seating for the yamim nora’im. The letter and form have placed on the shul website as a single  PDF document (PDF link here). The form is also available as an Excel document (XLS link here) Links to both of these files appear on the Bermanshul homepage until Rosh Hashana.
    As last year, the printed documents will not be mailed out and you are requested to please print out your own copy. Please consider printing an extra copy for somebody you know who may not be able to print their own.
     
HOSPITALITY, COMINGS & GOINGS - הכנסת אורחים
The community wishes to know about new arrivals or people planning to come to Rehovot so that we can welcome them. You may send in their details for the weekly bulletin, to hospitality@bermanshul.org or to Chaya Tannor.
MISHEBEIRACH LECHOLIM + BIKKUR CHOLIM - מישברך לחולים וביקור חולים
  • Please send in names (3 maximum) to gabbai@bermanshul.org, (preferably by Thursday) or write them out and to give to the Gabbaim before kria. Names must be resubmitted anew every week. 
  • If you are convalescing at home and would like visitors, please write in to bermanshul@gmail.com.

  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.
