• Kiddush this Shabbat is sponsored by the Shain family in honor of the second yahrzeit of husband and father, Rav Gershon Shain, ז"ל. 
  The azkara  will take place beforehand, on Thursday 28th July (26th of Tamuz) at 6:00 p.m. Family and friends will meet at the gravesite in the Rehovot cemetery, Shaar 5, Area מז
   
• Mazal tov to Jo and Yisrael Levitt on the engagement of their daughter Tammy to Yehoshua Paul, son of Lynn and Gerry Paul, of Ginot Shomron.
   
• Mazal tov to Marilyn and Shmuel Safran on the birth of a grandson, to the parents Moshe and Yael Safran, and to Yael's mother Sara Weissberger from Haifa
   
• Yeshar Koach to Batsheva Svetitsky, who has just finished officer training at Bahad 1.
  

• On Tisha Ba'av afternoon at 16:30 (before mincha) there will be a screening in shul of the documentary We Were Exodus (2007) - run time 80 minutes - review at www.culturevulture.net/Movies/we were exodus_8-08.htm. The movie is a mixture of interviews in English, Hebrew and French, with subtitles in Hebrew. It will be followed by a discussion with Yossi Bayor, who was on the boat. Yossi speaks in Hebrew but will answer questions posed in English too.
    
• High Holidays 5772  ימים נוראים תשע"ב    
  The time has come to renew annual membership and arrange seating for the yamim nora’im. The letter and form have placed on the shul website as a single  PDF document (PDF link here). The form is also available as an Excel document (XLS link here) Links to both of these files appear on the Bermanshul homepage until Rosh Hashana.
  As last year, the printed documents will not be mailed out and you are requested to please print out your own copy. Please consider printing an extra copy for somebody you know who may not be able to print their own.
   

• Please send in names (3 maximum) to gabbai@bermanshul.org, (preferably by Thursday) or write them out and to give to the Gabbaim before kria. Names must be resubmitted anew every week. 
• If you are convalescing at home and would like visitors, please write in to bermanshul@gmail.com.

• Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
  1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
  2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.

• Our son (20 years) will be home from yeshiva during the month of Av and would like to work locally in the Rehovot area. He has varied job experience from the states including working with an electrician on low-voltage installations, working behind a cash register, responsibility for stocking and maintaining a store isle, etc. and is therefore open to many different opportunities including odd jobs.
