• Mazel Tov to Naomi & Murray Borsekofsky on the birth of a Great Grandson, and to the new parents, Emma & Ariel Elyashiv and to the Grand Parents, Simcha & Yerachmiel Elyashiv of Karnai Shomron. 
   
• We regret to announce the passing of Joseph Sadoun ז"ל, the brother of our member Nicole Gamss. The funeral was on Wednesday 29th June in Jerusalem. Nicole is sitting shiva until Tuesday morning (5th July) at her home - Rehov Eisenberg 14/7. The phone number there is 08-9467718. There is no minyan at the shiva home.

• The parallel minyan wants you! Do you have a skill that you can contribute to davening or organization? If so, please send an e-mail with details to Hershel Safer at hsafer@alum.mit.edu. The minyan is only as successful as we make it – please write now.

• Membership directory
  We have recently been doing some maintenance on the membership directory to remove names of people whose membership has lapsed. Members are requested to please review the revised list (http://bermanshul.org/restricted/membership.pdf). If you don't remember how to access it, first log in to the shul website using your personal User Name and then go to http://bermanshul.org/content/section/9/58/ for further instructions. Please pay attention to your listed e-mail - this is not necessarily the same address as the one where you receive the unrestricted weekly mailings; you should check it in case we wish to send out restricted (members-only) e-mail.

• The next board meeting is on Tuesday 5th July at 20:30. The meeting will include ratification of the minutes of the 12th June meeting http://bermanshul.org/content/view/152/58 (login required) and matters arising. Please communicate responses/proposals to president@bermanshul.org or to any other board member.

• Please send in names (3 maximum) to gabbai@bermanshul.org, (preferably by Thursday) or write them out and to give to the Gabbaim before kria. Names must be resubmitted anew every week.

• Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
  1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
  2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.

• Tickets for the fabulous Carlebach Chai Benefit Concert are now on sale. The Concert will take place at Wix Auditorium at 8 pm on Wed. 7TH Sept., performed (in Hebrew) by the acclaimed Yiddishpeil Theater, directed by David Kribushi, with performers including Golan Azulai, Yisrael Rand, and Shlomi Goldberg.
  All proceeds from the concert will go to Yeshivat Amit Amichai, Rehovot.
  Tickets are being sold in 3 price categories (the higher the price, the better the seats, and the greater the much appreciated support for Yeshivat Amit Amichai).

  • Better seats: 250 NIS each

• Tal Israel, our daughter-in-law is a licensed doula (birthing instructor and supporter) and reflexologist. She assists individual women and also teaches courses for pregnant women to prepare them for childbirth and after. Tal has produced a DVD which is a full course, teaching about pregnancy, birth, and the post-partum period.
  The DVD is available from us. It would be very informative and useful to pregnant women - even if not a first pregnancy.
  The language of the DVD is Hebrew. The cost is NIS 80.
