• Mi shiberach lecholim: Please send in names (3 maximum) to gabbai@bermanshul.org,  (preferably by Thursday) or write them out and to give to the Gabbaim before kria. Names must be resubmitted anew every week. For a full explanation, see the previous bulletin.

• Membership directory
  We have recently been doing some maintenance on the membership directory to remove names of people whose membership has lapsed. Members are requested to please review the revised list (http://bermanshul.org/restricted/membership.pdf). If you don't remember how to access it, first log in to the shul website using your personal User Name and then go to http://bermanshul.org/content/section/9/58/ for further instructions. Please pay attention to your listed e-mail - this is not necessarily the same address as the one where you receive the unrestricted weekly mailings; you should check it in case we wish to send out restricted (members-only) e-mail.

• Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
  1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
  2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.

• Baby Sitting
  Dear Berman's Teens and Parents: Avigail Simpson has set up a new Google group for responsible Berman's teens who are interested in offering their babysitting services AND for parents who are looking for babysitters. The group can be joined by going to: http://babysitters.bermanshul.org and clicking on the "Join Group" button.
  If you are a responsible TEENAGER offering babysitting services, please post the following information to the group:    
  1. Your name and age.
  2. How much you charge
  3. Whether you have experience with babies and changing diapers
  4. Whether you can stay as late as necessary or do you have a time limit?
  5. Your home and/or cell phone numbers.
  NOTE: For the convenience of all involved, if you, for whatever reason are no longer interested in/available to babysit, it is your responsibility to remove yourself from the list!
  If you are a PARENT looking for a babysitter, please post the following information to the group:    
  1.  Your name.
  2. Number of children to be looked after and ages.
  3. Date and times (from...to....) needed
  4. Home and/or cell phone numbers where you can be reached by the babysitter.

• The Music Man: a Heartwarmi​ng Treat for All the Family - coming July 2011 This Tony award winning family musical is coming to a theater near you, this July. An affectionate paean to Smalltown, U.S.A. of a bygone era, Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a kids' band he vows to organize – this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall. The Music Man is fantastic family entertainment with a life-changing educational message: believe in yourself and make music!

• I am conducting jewelry making workshops for girls in groups of four-five girls who will be grouped together by age. Each workshop will consist of three sessions of two hours each, on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. I will provide all the materials (beads, crystals, wires, strings, etc). Each participant will conclude the workshop with a necklace, two bracelets, and a ring or earrings. The price of the workshop, including the materials, is 200 NIS per participant (if four girls are in the group) and a 10% discount (180 NIS each) if five girls are in the group. The workshop will be conducted in both Hebrew and English depending on the spoken language of the group! Please call Rachel Schecter at 054-7613892.
