ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Kiddush this week is sponsored by Liat and Daniel Kalman in honour of the birth of their daughter Ya'ara. Mazal tov to Ya'ara’s parents, grandmother Barbara Kalman, aunt and uncle Sigal and Josh Kalman, and to the rest of the family.

    Mazal tov to Chagit and Itzik Barnett on the birth of a son.
     
  • Mazal tov to Honey and Yehuda Berenson the engagement of their granddaughter Tsurit, daughter of Rav Nachum and Shlomit Berenson of Nahariya, to Benayahu Mula, son of Rav Yitzchak and Shoshana Mula of Rechovot.
     
  • Mazal tov to Ora and Ed Miller and to savta Chava Goldblum on the engagement of their son/grandson Louie to Chana Arnison daughter of Naamah and Nachum Arnison of Tiberias.
     
  • Leil HaAtzmaut (Monday night May 9th)
    As in recent years, we will once again be holding a communal Leil Ha'atzmaut celebration, including tefilla chagigit followed by 2 programs( for different ages) and a festive dairy meal. Full details are on the calendar (direct link).

    • Please include soldiers and national-service volunteers (who eat for free) so that we can estimate numbers for catering
    • During the evening, gifts of appreciation will be presented to our new inductees to צה"ל and שרות לאומי. If you have a family member who did not receive a gift previously please tell Chaya, even if the name appears in our webpage of serving Bermans members. (The list is kept at http://tinyurl.com/y8ml8ut,  - you are requested to make updates directly on-line to keep the list up to date). 
    • Please send in your "only in Israel" anecdotes (for the programme).

  • The 2011 Shul AGM has been called for 29 May at 20:30. Further information to follow.

The community wishes to know about new arrivals or people planning to come to Rehovot so that we can welcome them. You may send in their details for the weekly bulletin, to hospitality@bermanshul.org or to Chaya Tannor.

  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.
