ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Mazal tov to Jeannette and Dunny Rabinowitz on the birth of their sixth grandson, a third son for Keren and Shlomi Nachmani and a brother to Yitchak and Itai.
     
  • Mazal-tov to Adele and Tuvia Muskin on the engagement of their grandson Tzvi, son of Rachel and Mordechai Wilk, to Hadara Bouchris of Petach Tikvah
     
  • The memorial service for Judith bat Yaakov Taube ז"ל will take place on Thursday 11 Adar, 5771 (17/3/2010) Taanit Esther (mukdam) at the Rechovot Cemetary on Rechov Yehuda Gorodiski at 15:30 (3:30pm). Family and friends will meet at the entrance to the cemetery.
     
  • Megillah reading: On motzaei shabbat Parashat Zakhor/Erev Purim, Ma'ariv and Megillah reading will be delayed until 7 PM. This will allow everyone enough time to come to shul with their Family, megillot and costumes. Once Shabbat is out (6:27) everyone should say "ברוך המבדיל בין קודש לחול" prior to doing מלאכה (work forbidden on Shabbat). Ma'ariv followed by Megillah Reading will begin at 7:00 PM. Following Megilla reading, havdala will be made in shul.

  • Leil HaAtzmaut (Monday night May 9th)
    As in recent years, we will once again be holding a communal Leil Ha'atzmaut celebration, including tefilla chagigit followed by 2 programs( for different ages) and a festive dairy meal. Full details are on the calendar (direct link).

  • Chugim and activities for all ages at Havayot Schweitz: Including 50+ coffee evenings (Sundays), מועדון חצ"ב (Tuesdays a.m.), Bridge for beginners, Tiyulim, etc.. For details and schedules see the Havayot Website (www.havayot.co.il).
  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.

  • A young couple with young children that made aliyah are looking to buy a 5 room (4 bedroom) or possibly 6 if its around the same price - apt in the area of the shul. if anyone knows or sees apts like these within a 5-10 minute walk from the shul in any direction please call Dan Feferman 0578161888.

  • One of our own at Chavayot Schweitz!
    A selection of Nogah Safer’s paintings can be viewed (and purchased) at Matnas Chavayot Schweitz on Sireni Street. The Matnas is open Sunday through Thursday from 8 AM to 11 PM. The paintings will be up through approximately the end of March.
     
  • You are cordially invited to bake Shmurah Matzah from our home grown wheat. The baking will take place BS"D on Friday morning March 25, 2011, between 9:00AM and 1:00PM at the Matza Bakery of the Karlin Chassidim in Geula, Jerusalem at 24 Ovadia Street, Near Rehov Bar Ilan. There is no cost. Those of the male, female and young persuasions are most welcome. If you can come, please let me know by return email.
