ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • מזל טוב לחברתינו ליבי ניימן על הולדת הנין "יונתן" - בן לרבקה ודני לינדנברג, מבוקה רטון פלורידה.
    Mazal Tov to our member Libby Neiman on the birth of a great-grandson Yonatan, son to Rivka and Donnie Lindenberg of Boca Raton Florida.
     
  • The azkara for Lee Segel z"l will be held be"H at the Rehovot cemetery on Wednesday 26 January (21 Shvat), meeting at the gate at 3:45 for mincha. Ruth Segel 089473769 for particulars.
     
  • The azkarah marking the 14th yahrzeit of Rachel Garfinkel ז"ל and the 6th yahrzeit of Lenny Garfinkel ז"ל will take place at the Rehovot cemetery, IY"H, on Friday, 28 January 2011 (23 Shevat 5771) at 10 a.m.
    The family - both here and abroad - very much appreciates the continued loyalty to Rachel's and Lenny's memories over all the years.
     
  • The unveiling for Leslie Mound z’l, father of our member Ruth Rechtschaffen will be held on Friday 28th January 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Gan Yavneh cemetery, at Kibbutz Hatzor. Follow signs to Gan Yavneh, pass the Ditzoron cemetery. Turn right at the corner and continue for about 1/2 km. until Kibbutz Hatzor (there are horses on the right). Enter the kibbutz and continue to the cemetery.
     
  • Yeshiva campus cleaning - part V
    This Friday will be another cleanup of the Yeshiva campus. Same time, same place (different garbage).

    • Tzi Sternlicht - child psychiatrist and Aliyah experiences!
    • Rehovot pianist: Ellen Macales to play well known American & Israeli tunes
    • Pinchas Levinson - timely and topical humour puncturing the hot-air balloon of Israel politics and life
    • Dan Feigelson plans to play something on the French Horn exactly as the joke says it should be played - by sticking his hand in the bell of a trombone and missing a lot of notes!
      . . . .and last but not least:
    • Hani Skutch - the laughter of Rehovot and BERMAN'S own Stand-Up comedian
    This coming Motzei Shabbat (Yitro, 22nd January) 8:30 p.m. in the Yeshivat HaDarom dining hall. Suggested donation NIS 25 - With refreshments. See you there!
     
  • BermaNoar - ברמנוער
    There will be a shabbaton for Bermanoar kids, 8th grade and up, on the 11-12th of February in Achziv.
    The number of places is limited so please register your kids ASAP with Ilana Friedlander at stevenf@netvision.net.il.

  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.

PERSONAL & BASEMENT
Please note that the Berman Community is not responsible for the Halachic propriety or kashrut of items listed.

  • A mother of 10 is in urgent need of a kidney donation. The donor must have blood Type A or Type O, and be of good health - no cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure or kidney stones in the past 5 years. She is currently undergoing dialysis 3 times a week. If you think you can help, or for further information, please contact her husband at 054-777071. Tizku l'mitzvot.
     
  • The Maalot Meshulam elementary school, here in Rehovot is having a bazaar in which all the money collected will towards writing a sefer torah. The bazaar will take place in the school on Monday the 31st of January. We are looking for unwanted or unused electric equipment, games, tools, art, non perishable food items or other things that can be sold at the bazaar. All the unsold items will go to needy families.
