  • Mazal tov to Sharyn & Adam Strauss and family on the bar mitzvah of their son Shaya. Mazal tov and welcome to Saba Yaakov Meir and Safta Rivka from Yerushalayim, Bubbe Barbara and Grandpa Michael from NY, Reed and Irene Seifer, and to the entire Strauss clan.   • We regret to announce the passing of Esther Seeman, z"l, the mother of our member Eli Seeman. Eli will be sitting shiva in Rehovot on Friday morning, Nov. 26, from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, after which there will be a minyan for Mincha. The address is 40/4 Gorodesky, 08-949-4628. The rest of the week (through Tuesday morning, Nov. 30) he will sit in Beit Shemesh, at Rechov Tidhar 12B. The number there is 02-999-5935.

  • ADDED IN UPDATED EDITION
    We regret to inform the membership of the passing of Moshe Haffner, z"l, the father of our member Rebecca Krausz. The funeral was held in Manchester on Thursday, Nov. 25. Rebecca will be sitting shiva with her family in Manchester through Wednesday morning, Dec. 1st.

  • Professor Israel Orbach z"l, formerly a member of the Berman Shul (before he moved to Ness Ziona), died of cancer Tuesday 23rd November. He was a well known clinical psychologist specializing in suicide in children. He retired from the faculty of the psychology department of Bar Ilan and taught at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya. His wife Esther and the rest of the family are sitting shiva at her home, 36 Rehov Ben Gurion, Ness Ziona.
     
  • The Neiman, Frimer and Dear Families will be holding a Hakamat Matseiva (Unveiling) for beloved husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather Yonatan (Jonas) Neiman Z”l, Friday November 26th (19 Kislev 5771), 9:30 AM at Eretz haHayyim Cemetery, Tzomet Shimshon [near Bet Shemesh]. At the same time the extended Frimer Family will hold an Azkara in memory of our beloved husband, father, son and grandson Yaakov Yehudah Frimer z"l.
     
  • On Motzei Shabbat (27th Nov), there will be an event for women at Beit Chatam.
    The event is in memory of Pauline Gaba, ז"ל, mother of our member Victor Gaba.

  • Yeshar Koach and thank-you to BermaNoar, Shevet Sa'ar (Scouts) and Rav Motti Goldreich for repairing the shul's Sidurim.

  • BERMANOAR - ברמנוער
    1. ביום רביעי נר ראשון של חנוכה 1 לדצמבר בשעה 8:00 תתקיים הצגה של תיאטרון "אספקלריה". שם ההצגה "תלוש". ההצגה לנוער בית הכנסת מכיתה ט' ומעלה, בהשתתפות ההורים עם קבוצת דיון לאחר ההצגה. פרטים נוספים יתווספו לוח האירועים.
    2. בבמקביל להצגה יהיה סרט לנוער הקטן מכיתה ט' עם קבוצת דיון לאחר הסרט.
    פיצה וסופגניות לכל המשתתפים.

  • Shabbat Parashat Bo in Akko שבת פרשת בא בעכו
    The information posted in last week's bulletin is now listed in the calendar below (scroll down to 7th-8th January 2011). For more details about the Shabbaton, please contact David Drory, 08-9315847 or 054-4903856, e mail: dvd258@gmail.com. The final date for registration is 30th November, so that we will not have to pay any cancellation fees. We need to book a minimum of 25 rooms.

  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.

  • The Rehovot Anglo Hebrew-reading group will start a new book, "Teyoom Kavanot" by Haim Sabato, at its next meeting, December 6. If your Hebrew-reading skills are not as good as you would like, this is a good time to join the group. We meet alternate Monday mornings, 9-10:15h.
