ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Shabbat Parashat Bo in Akko שבת פרשת בא בעכו
    Following the success of last year's Shabbaton in Kfar Tavor, we are planning a Shabbaton at the Hof Akko Hotel (4*) on 7th-8th January 2011. There will be a guided walk on Friday and two lectures (in Hebrew) on Shabbat.
    The cost of the Shabbaton is:
    • 900 NS for a couple in a double room
    • 730 NS - single occupancy
    • 1150 NS -couple + 1 child aged 2-12
    • 1290 NS - couple + 1 child over 12
    • 950 NS – 3 children over 12 in one room
    The price includes: full board (buffet style meals), coffee and cake on Shabbat morning, coffee and tea available all day, entrance fees to sites, tips. Payment by credit card, up to 3 payments w/o interest
    Cancellation fees:
    • up to a month before, no cancellation fee
    • 14-30 days before, the equivalent of B & B for one night.
    • 7-14 days before, 50%.

    • less than 7 days, 100%
    We are not arranging transport, and recommend travelling to Akko by train.

  • Torah reading chug     חוג ללימוד טעמי המקרא
    We are pleased to announce a new session of the chug taamei hamikra (torah reading) for 5th-6th graders, given by David Drory. Participation is free, dependent on 5 participants signing up. Those interested should approach David Drory.
    אנו שמחים להודיע על פתיחת חוג נוסף ללימוד טעמי המקרא לילדים בכתה ה'-ו'. החוג ינתן ע"י דוד דרורי. החוג ללא תשלום ומותנה ברישום של חמישה תלמידים. נא לפנות לדוד דרורי.
     
  • We are looking for a volunteer to ensure that there is a minyan (i.e. at least 10 men) for aveilim who wish to daven at home. The person will be reponsible for recruiting minyan participants, but will not need to organize sidurim or the aron kodesh. If you can help, please contact Jerry Kriger.
     
  • Please note that till parshat Toldot, Shema in the Shabbat 8:15 minyan is said later than sof zman kriyat shema. Therefore, those davening in that minyan should say the shema before coming to shul.

  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.
