פרשת וירא תשע"א‬

• Yeshar Koach Bermans
  For several years, Bermans has been hosting soldiers participating in "Nativ", a course for olim designed to deepen their Jewish identity. Following the course, many of the participants who are not halachically Jewish graduate to conversion courses, during which the host families "adopt" them. Because of our active involvement, Bermans was one of five communities that this year received a certificate of recognition (click to view) from the Prime Minister's Office. • ישר כח לקהילת ברמן
  מזה כמה שנים שבית כנסת ברמן / מרכז קהלתי ברמן, מארח בשבתות קבוצות של חיילים מקורס "נתיב" - קורס להעמקת הזהות היהודית המיועד לעולים. בעקבות הקורס רבים מהעולים שאינם יהודים הלכתית ממשיכים לקורסי גיור והמשפחות המארחות מהשבתון מאמצות את החיילים במהלך הגיור. בעקבות הפעילות האינטנסיבית הזו נבחר בית כנסת ברמן לאחד מ 5 הקהילות שקיבלו השנה את אות ההערכה (לחץ לצפיה) מטעם לשכת ראש הממשלה. כל הכבוד לאילנה פרידלנדר שעבדה קשה לארגן את הפרויקט הזה בקהילתנו. אנו מקווים להרחיב עוד את פעילותנו, בתחום זה, המתעניינים יכולים לקבלת פרטים נוספים אצל: אילנה פרידלנדר או באמצאות  דוא"ל ל-nativ@bermanshul.org

• Mazal tov to Tami & Ron Unger on the marriage of their daughter Ayelet to Mattan Shpaier, son of Itzchak & Sara Shpaier of Rehovot.
   
• Mazal tov to Edith & Paul Linden on the birth of a grandson, and to the parents Chaim & Yamit Linden
   
• Mazal Tov to Dr Reut Ferencz Schwarzbaum the newest (and cutest) dentist in Rehovot on passing her licensing exams
   
• There will be an Azkara for Ze'ev Olami z"l on his 8th Yahrzeit, Tue 26th October at the Rehovot cemetery. 16:00 Mincha, 16:15 graveside.

• Reminder: When reporting bereavements (לא עלינו), please include an e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com. This e-mail box is checked regularly by several people, who will make sure that any urgent notice is sent out by SMS/voicemail as necessary.
   
• Please note that till parshat Toldot, Shema in the Shabbat 8:15 minyan is said later than sof zman kriyat shema. Therefore, those davening in that minyan should say the shema before coming to shul.

• Avishai Horowitz, moved to Rechovot with his wife and baby daughter to continue his studies at the Faculty of Agriculture. He is looking for work maintaining gardens while he studies. He comes highly recommended by friends of Mechael Kanovsky. His home number is 073-7276774.
   
• I am planning a pilot trip before making aliya to Rehovot from Oct 25 to Nov 7. I am coming alone and I am looking for a 1-2 bedroom apartment in Rechovot for $400-600/month. If anyone can help me with accommodations when I am here I will be very grateful .Maya Muchnik. mayamuchnik@gmail.com

• Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
  1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
  2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.

• Dear Ladies,
  Once again the Gush Etzion players are putting on a production for women only called "Judge! the Song of Devora". We are, once again, organizing tickets and a bus from Rehovot on Sunday evening, November 14, 2010. There are 2 prices for the tickets, 55NIS or 65NIS for better seats. We reserved a block of seats at 65NIS per ticket and arranged that those people who reserve a seat on the bus will pay 55NIS for the ticket. If you do not reserve a seat on the bus, the ticket will cost 65NIS. A seat on the bus will cost approximately 40 NIS, depending on the number of people who reserve seats.
