ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • This week's Kiddush is in celebration of the Bar Mitzva of Ariel and Matan Frimer. Mazal Tov to their mother Shira Frimer, grandparents Esther & Aryeh Frimer and Irene Marocco, and to Great Grandmothers Libby Neiman and Helen Schwartz. We extend a warm welcome to the various members of the Frimer, Marocco, Felsen and Bellows families who have come from far and wide to join in this Simcha!
     
  • Mazal tov to Judy & Nathan Weiss on the marriage of their daughter Shifra to Tomer Karni, son of Malka and Moshe Karni of Rehovot, on Rosh Hodesh Cheshvan. Mazal tov also to Shifra's grandmother Livia Molnar who came in from Montreal for the occasion. 
     
  • Mazel tov to Evelynne & Hershell Goldman on the birth of a granddaughter, a 3rd daughter to Ilana & Gilad Jack of Mazkeret Batya.
     
  • Mazal Tov to Adele & Tuvia Muskin on the birth of a great-grandson, Roie Yehuda. Mazal tov also to the parents, Shira & Ariel Fund, and to the grandparents Rachel & Mordechai Wilk.
     
  • Please note that till parshat Toldot, Shema in the Shabbat 8:15 minyan is said later than sof zman kriyat shema. Therefore, those davening in that minyan should say the shema before coming to shul.

  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.

  • As Israel's International Red Cross organisation, Magen David Adom has launched a series of initiatives worldwide in order to gain Red Cross access to Gilad Shalit. Magen David Adom UK has set up an online petition to highlight Shalit's plight and demand the basic human right, as set out in the Geneva Convention, for Shalit to be visited immediately by the International Red Cross.
